To facilitate the energy transition in Germany, we need to expand and upgrade our grid infrastructure as the backbone of our energy system. Hence, Transmission System Operators like Amprion GmbH are planning significant investments to provide a future-proofed system.   As a shareholder in Amprion, one of the four TSOs in Germany, we fully support that. To secure the future funding of our 25.1% stake in Amprion, we’ve teamed up with Apollo Global Management, Inc., a global asset manager with significant experience in infrastructure investments.   Apollo will provide €3.2 billion in equity to a new joint venture that will hold our stake in Amprion. Together, we will gradually put these funds into Amprion to support its extensive investment programme. We are very excited to welcome Apollo as our new partner. I am pleased to share an update on the expansion of our large power transformer factory in Zagreb — part of our joint venture between KONČAR and Siemens Energy. The joint venture is investing significantly to boost production capacity and create hundreds of new jobs in manufacturing and for highly qualified roles.   This enables us to 1. Double MVA capacity 2. Continue our leadership in transformer technology, including generator step-up, HVDC, and autotransformers   This investment is part of our growth program to expand our manufacturing capacities globally and strengthens our commitment in the region. Energy transition is global – and collaboration makes it stronger! 🌍⚡ Last week, Roland Hermes and I had the privilege of a personal exchange between BSES Rajdhani Power Limited & BSES Yamuna Power Limited and E.ON SE, hosted at Süwag in Frankfurt and in New Delhi. A big thank you to Abhishek Ranjan (CEO, BSES Rajdhani) and his team – Vishnu Srivastava, Saurabh Kumar, Maneesh Arora, and Devender Sharma – for the inspiring discussions and go and see site visits. Also, I extend my tanks to Sebastian Lührs, Edwin Schick and the team involved at Süwag. Here are some key takeaways that stuck with me: 🔋 Delhi’s energy transition is in full swing. Like many E.ON markets, the capital city faces the challenge of balancing rising electricity demand with growing renewable generation. Drivers include increased air conditioning usage and a rapidly expanding fleet of ~2,000 electric buses – with ambitious plans to scale further, potentially surpassing Hamburg in electric buses per inhabitant. ⚡ BSES Rajdhani Power Limited is leading with innovation. Let me share one example: As a private utility, they’re investing in grid capacity and deploying Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to enhance supply security. We visited a grid station with a 20 MW / 40 MWh BESS, inaugurated in April 2025 – one of many already in operation or planned. 💡 Technology enables progress – but people make it happen. The dedication and vision of Abhishek and his team are truly making a difference. At E.ON we follow a similar path as playmaker. Let’s keep building bridges and learning from each other. The Düsseldorfer Hockey Club (DHC) and one of fastest growing international renewable technology company Sigenergy are entering into a forward-looking partnership. This includes both a comprehensive sponsorship package for DHC’s two Bundesliga teams as well as a flagship project in the field of solar power. Sigenergy is now a Gold Partner of both Bundesliga teams. The company’s logo will feature on the chest of the 1st Men’s team jerseys.
