During the week of the Mid-Autumn Festival, CICC Charity Foundation HK, together with CICC volunteers, in partnership with the charitable organization Sunshine Action, Johnson Stokes & Master and Nam Cheong West care team, delivered warm meals, fruits, drinks and hygiene amenities to homeless individuals in Sham Shui Po, Hong Kong. This meaningful initiative showcased CICC's corporate values of loving Hong Kong and caring for vulnerable groups, while also demonstrating our employees’ commitment to social responsibility through tangible action. Xu Jia, Deputy Head of Investment Banking Department at CICC, was recently featured in the South China Morning Post SCMP on Hong Kong's pivotal role as a global financial bridge. In the interview, Xu Jia underscored Hong Kong’s enduring role as a gateway between mainland China and global capital markets, highlighting its unique position to attract international investors from both traditional regions like Europe and the US, and emerging ones such as the Middle East and Southeast Asia. This is evidenced by a growing number of listings from a wider array of regions and industries, “the role of Hong Kong remains unchanged”, he said. Although most companies seeking fundraising in Hong Kong were from the mainland, a growing number from other regions and from a wider array of industries had also chosen to list in the city, Xu said, adding this momentum was likely to persist. He pointed to the recent dual listing of Jiaxin International Resources in Hong Kong and Kazakhstan as a vivid example of the city’s global reach. He also cited the increasing number of Southeast Asian companies choosing Hong Kong for IPOs, including biotech and consumer firms from Singapore and Thailand. This trend not only reflects Hong Kong’s expanding industry diversity but also its potential for growth and its appeal beyond China-focused businesses. Amid a notable return of capital and a strong rebound in the Hong Kong stock market, Hong Kong reinforces its position as a resilient, open, and globally connected financial hub. On October 6, the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government officially launched the Task Force on Supporting Mainland Enterprises in Going Global (GoGlobal Task Force). The ceremony was attended by Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of the Government of the HKSAR; Algernon Yau, Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development; and Alpha Lau, Director-General of Invest Hong Kong. CICC participated as the only securities firm among partner institutions. Zhihai Diao, Head of International Business for Wealth Management at CICC, attended the event and engaged with the media.
