Carbon removal will likely play a key role in mitigating global greenhouse gas #emissions and addressing #ClimateChange. So, what does the current policy landscape for carbon removal look like? 🏭 🌱 In a recent episode of Resources Radio, Jennifer Wilcox and host Daniel Raimi dive into this topic, including the existing gaps in carbon removal policies, and important considerations when amending and creating new policies. They also discuss the recent revision of the 45Q tax credit and assess the updated tax incentives for carbon removal in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. “If you look at the entire fleet of natural gas–fired power plants in the United States today, and you think about the question of carbon capture as a solution for that sector in terms of mitigating carbon emissions, you wouldn’t want to put carbon capture on a unit that should be retired … it shouldn’t be something that enables further dependence on fossil [fuels].” says Wilcox. 🎧: https://lnkd.in/ewtngJnp

This #WorldFoodDay, we're celebrating the power of collective action to transform our food systems. 🌆 Cities are at the heart of this transformation, consuming over 70% of the world's food and driving significant food-related emissions. That's why we're partnering with Milan Urban Food Policy Pact to drive systems change in cities across Europe. Our partnership will strengthen research, monitoring, and policy efforts that empower cities to serve healthier, more sustainable meals. We sat down with WRI expert Edwina Hughes to break down why multi-sector collaboration is critical to addressing today's interconnected food challenges. Read the full Q&A to see how we're working #HandinHand to achieve a food-secure and sustainable future for all 👇 #WorldFoodDay #FoodSystems #MUFPP #FoodPolicy #HealthyDiet #SustainableFood World Resources Institute FAO

Today, on #WorldFoodDay, we are joining the global call to action: Hand in Hand for Better Foods and a Better Future. At FOLU, we believe that collaboration is the key to building resilient, equitable food systems. Our latest blog explores how COP30, hosted in Brazil, could be a game-changer for food and land use—showcasing solutions that deliver for people, nature, and climate. We unpack five key moments to watch — from financing for land restoration to a breakthrough on fertilizers — and how we can build momentum together. This year’s theme is also a powerful reminder that transforming our food systems—and ensuring everyone, everywhere, has access to nutritious, sustainable food—requires unity across borders, sectors, and communities. Read the full blog to see how we can work hand in hand for a better food future: https://lnkd.in/e_Ph3vNH And don’t miss our upcoming webinar with the United Nations Foundation and Climate High-Level Champions next week, where we’ll bring together civil society, philanthropy, and the private sector to align and accelerate action on food systems ahead of COP30.
