Tether Launches USDT on Kaia to Boost Web3 and Stablecoin Adoption in Asia

Tether’s USDT will be accessible on LINE’s Mini Dapp platform and self-custody wallet, both integrated within the LINE Messenger app.

Tether has announced the launch of its USDT stablecoin on the Kaia blockchain. This integration aims to make stablecoin use more accessible in Asia. The incorporation is part of a partnership with LINE NEXT Corp., the Web3 arm of LINE, designed to bring digital asset services to everyday users through familiar platforms.

USDT will become available across LINE’s Mini Dapp platform and self-custody wallet system, which are integrated into the LINE Messenger app. This rollout will give LINE’s 196 million monthly users an easier way to send and receive stablecoins directly within the chat application.

USDT Transfers on LINE Messenger

By leveraging Kaia’s high-performance layer-1 blockchain, the deployment will support a variety of use cases. These include in-app purchases, international transfers, and decentralized finance (DeFi) interactions. LINE Messenger already hosts the Mini Dapp and Dapp Portal ecosystem. Hence, Kaia is a good fit for Tether’s expansion into Asia’s digital-native market.

One notable feature of the initiative is that users can earn USDT by completing tasks within Mini Dapps. They can also carry out peer-to-peer transfers using the app’s built-in wallet. According to LINE NEXT, further integrations of USDT into LINE’s Dapp ecosystem are also on the table.

Boosting Stablecoin Adoption Across Asia

Tether’s push to bring stablecoins to widely used platforms reflects its broader goal of creating practical, real-world use cases for digital dollars. In Asia, where mobile services are deeply embedded in daily life, Tether sees a strong opportunity to make stablecoins part of routine financial activity.

The partnership positions Kaia and LINE NEXT as key contributors to stablecoin distribution across the region. It combines Kaia’s blockchain performance, LINE’s massive user base, and Tether’s liquidity to promote broader adoption of Web3 tools and expand financial access.

Commenting on the integration, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino said the initiative aligns with the company’s goal of expanding stablecoin adoption. He noted that this effort targets Asia and other regions. He also added that it will help connect digital assets with everyday use for millions of people.

“Through LINE NEXT’s blockchain infrastructure, over 200 million LINE users will now have a straightforward way to engage with digital assets in everyday life,” he stated.
