Introduce per-user licence to get Fabric Capacity

Enable individual users / freelancers to study and practice fabric with a per-user license similar to Premium Per User in Power BI. F2 is a price point that is too high for them. Strong limitations in time and resources available would make sense, but there should be a clear monthly cap that cannot be like the current F2.

Totally agree! I still have a rolling trial version of Fabric, which is great but I am always expecting it to disappear each 30 days, so do not really use it like i would like to. I used it a lot initially, did some of Randy Minder's courses and set up some exploratory analyses etc etc. I like it, as I can finally organise data, processes and analytics, but I am not going to pay that sort of money. My clients generally don't (yet) have it, and it is hard to recommend something you don't have good access to. I do however have a premium per user power bi license which is great.

I like this idea, but for different reasons than stated by Marco. I think the current licensing model is weird, especially for smaller companies operating on a F2/F4 SKU. As a developer, I am constantly worried about Capacity Unit seconds used in a small SKU when developing and debugging pipelines/notebooks etc.

For me a Fabric Per User license would make sense if if was a fixed price, like Power BI PPU. With some fixed amount of storage and/or compute. I donโ€™t know if this is technically feasible, but would make the case for Fabric a lot easier for SMEโ€™s in my opinion.

Thanks for your feedback, this is a good idea to consider adding.

I'm a MCT and I need to teach Fabric to my students, but the cheapest license is out of the budget of any student. Please incorporate a Fabric Per User license: consider organizations where there are no teams, but single users. While trial licenses are useful, they expire and erase all work done.

I would appreciate reconsidering integrating the Fabric license into the individual user package, as the costs per device are quite high and sometimes difficult to acquire.
