Curiosity, social justice, and a need for gender equity drive my interest in digital technology. My work focuses on digital and data rights through research to influence public interest policy and civil society engagement; advisory to technologists to think of how their technology affects women and gender diverse people, and philanthropic interventions to support leadership growth and sustainability of feminist movements on the African continent. I draw on principles of feminism to think through digital technology interventions in their contexts and how they connect globally. I have worked on women’s rights online, digital identity, online gender-based violence, and data and AI projects. I previously held roles with Research ICT Africa as researcher/communications manager; World Wide Web Founder as Gender and Digital Rights Research Manager and most recently Mozilla Foundation – Africa Innovatin Mradi senior program officer. I am also the founder of My Data Rights Africa – a project focised on understanding data and digital technology from a feminist perspective.
