🧐 The most important thing I learned from this week's Conductor #C3 conference wasn't from a speaker on stage, it was from speaking in-between the sessions 🤔 and at meet and greets 🤝 with over 40 professionals in the weeds... Talking one on one industry pros in SEO and AIO/GEO during the conference, they're catching heat 🥵 from the C suite or their manager for not getting more traffic from AI Search. On avg it's making up only 1%-3% of traffic, but CMOs and others are asking "then that means our competitors are getting it", but that is not the case. Most brands are seeing a loss of 20%-30% of SEO traffic and not growth in AI search traffic as the medium and surfaces/platforms of AI are not meant to drive visitors away. It's a simple user shift in behavior, like the Google "quick answer" before AI overviews (googles ai answers) before it. The query is being answered IN the search or AI answer results, therefore there's no reason for the user to come to your site as much. Thanks to Alisa Reznik for asking for more about what I'm hearing.
