DBIA is at the forefront of leveraging model-based techniques to enhance Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) processes and elevate collaboration among project teams.
VDC involves developing reliable multidisciplinary building information models to digitally deliver information across the Design-Construct-Operate continuum. This approach enables design-build teams to create a connected digital ecosystem that supports early design iterations, sustainability and constructability analysis and collaborative decision-making.
Within the collaborative framework of Design-Build Done Right®, VDC thrives by integrating people, process and technology. DBIA recognizes the critical role of technology and innovation in supporting seamless teamwork within design-build projects, empowering teams to work together more efficiently.
As the leading national association representing design and construction professionals, DBIA provides targeted VDC education, training and resources to our members, enabling better collaboration and project outcomes in design-build projects.
2025 Virtual Design & Construction Leadership Exchange (VDCLEx)
The Virtual Design & Construction Leadership Exchange (VDCLEx) is back as a half-day pre-conference event, Nov. 4, at the 2025 Design-Build Conference & Expo in Las Vegas. It includes opening and closing general sessions and two specialized tracks: one for experienced VDC professionals and the other for non-VDC professionals. The VDCLEx continues to explore how VDC is impacting designers, builders and Owners by enhancing design excellence, increasing quality and productivity, as well as improving lifecycle costs.
