This system proves a new path for industrial facilities around the world to cut carbon and control costs — turning intermittent solar energy into continuous, high-pressure heat. Built from brick and wire, the Rondo Heat Battery delivers the reliability that industry demands, with zero emissions, no scarce materials, and seamless integration into existing systems. We’re proud to share that Koloma has been awarded two natural hydrogen exploration contracts in Central Luzon—the result of the world’s first competitive bid round for natural hydrogen, a historic milestone for clean energy innovation. A signing ceremony at Malacañang Palace, led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and senior government officials, underscores the Philippines’ commitment to pioneering sustainable energy solutions. For Koloma, these contracts are a meaningful step as we expand natural hydrogen exploration internationally. We’ll apply our subsurface science and collaborative approach to responsibly assess Central Luzon’s potential and support the Philippines’ energy goals. We’re proud to share that Heron Power has been recognized by NVIDIA as a data center power system provider within its Open Innovation Ecosystem, announced today at the OCP Global Summit. Heron Power’s new white paper, "Heron Link: Unlocking Efficient Power Conversion for Gigascale AI," outlines a new standard in data center electrical architecture — combining solid state 34.5kV–800V DC conversion with integrated energy storage and grid-forming capability.

Xcel Energy is making history with a first-in-the-nation Distributed Capacity Procurement proposal in collaboration with Sparkfund to deploy up to 200 MW of battery storage in Minnesota by 2028. This is an incredible milestone for our team and the team at Xcel Energy. We are honored to collaborate with Xcel on shaping the future of DERs deployed at scale on the grid. Utility-led deployments like what was just filed in Minnesota are how we’ll take DERs from grid edge to grid core. Scaling up Xcel Energy’s battery storage network will help the utility deliver reliable energy to customers while building a grid that is ready to support Minnesota’s economic growth. How will it work? Under this Capacity*Connect proposal, Xcel Energy will use system planning to identify customer locations (local businesses, C&I sites, nonprofits, etc.) to host storage assets. Sparkfund will support deploying and managing those assets with Xcel, making sure they are built right, and delivered on-time and on-budget. Customers who host assets would receive direct payments for participating in the program. Each site will have approximately one to three megawatts of storage (one megawatt is about the size of a shipping container). By storing excess energy when it’s cheap, and delivering it when it’s needed most, Xcel Energy is increasing the efficiency of its existing infrastructure, and unlocking the full value of the electric grid to support the communities it serves.
