Fundraising im Biotech-Bereich ist nicht hart, sondern "God-Mode" hart 👇 Aus unserem Gespräch mit Thomas Rexer, Co-Founder der eversyn GmbH, haben wir die 8 wichtigsten Learnings zusammengefasst. 1️⃣ Umwege führen manchmal zurück zum Ursprung Thomas begann seine Forschung im Bereich Shale Gas, weit entfernt von Biotechnologie. Erst später (über eine Postdoc-Stelle) kam er über Modellierung zurück in die Bio-Welt. Was zunächst wie ein Umweg schien, erwies sich als perfekte Vorbereitung auf die komplexen Herausforderungen bei Eversyn. Manchmal führt der Umweg zur genau richtigen Perspektive. 2️⃣ Ein gutes Team lernt gemeinsam, wirtschaftlich Als Wissenschaftler war Thomas es gewohnt, analytisch zu denken. Unternehmerisch zu denken, war dagegen neu. Gemeinsam mit dem Team lernte er, wie Businesspläne, Go-to-Market-Strategien und kommerzielle Denkweisen funktionieren. Allein dafür lohnt es sich, Unternehmer zu werden. 3️⃣ Produkte verkaufen sich nicht von selbst Trotz technologischer Exzellenz musste Eversyn lernen, wie man Kunden wirklich erreicht. Der direkte Vertrieb über die Website war ein guter Start, aber ohne Konferenzen, Netzwerk und schnelle Reaktion wäre nichts passiert. Vor allem: Kunden wollen verstanden werden. 4️⃣ Als Biotech-Startup kommst du um VCs nicht herum Weil das Business so kapitalintensiv ist, brauchst du große Beträge. Aber nicht alle VCs trauen sich an Biotech… und verstehen oft nicht mal die Sprache davon. Daher ist Fundraising für Biotech-Startups eine echte Herausforderung. 5️⃣ Netzwerk schlägt Pitchdeck E-Mails mit Pitchdecks liefen oft ins Leere. Erst persönliche Gespräche auf Events führten zu den richtigen Kontakten. Besonders wertvoll waren kleinere, fokussierte Veranstaltungen mit Branchenbezug. Investoren überzeugen heißt: präsent sein. 6️⃣Business Angels bringen mehr als Geld Eversyn arbeitete früh mit einem Business Angel zusammen. Das Kapital war hilfreich, aber noch wertvoller waren die Erfahrung, das Netzwerk und die aktive Unterstützung. Vor allem in frühen Phasen sind solche Begleiter Gold wert. Smart Money ist mehr als nur ein Schlagwort. 7️⃣ Liefergeschwindigkeit kann ein USP sein Viele Wettbewerber liefern spät oder unzuverlässig. Eversyn entschied sich bewusst für sofortige Lieferung - ein echter Vorteil für forschungsnahe Kunden. Gerade bei hochpreisigen Produkten ist Verlässlichkeit ein Vertrauensanker.
