It’s not just about robots, it’s about the PEOPLE behind them. We’re proud to have hosted the first AI+Robotics Hackathon in Aachen, together with Institut für Unternehmenskybernetik (IfU) e.V.: Real hardware. Real integration. Real collaboration. This event was part of the global #LeRobot Hackathon initiated by Hugging Face, connecting builders across 100+ cities with one shared mission. The Challenge was to integrate the robot into a teleoperation method, make it possible to collect data in the standardized Dataformat and train an AI model that controls the robot. What made the challenge stand out? 🦾 A uniquely diverse lineup of robots, each with its own real-world challenge. From open-source arms and research platforms to industrial-grade systems, teams tackled the full Embodied AI stack: hardware, communication, data pipelines and model training. Far from theoretical, this was hands-on robotics work that actually pushes the field forward, with plenty of fun, creativity, and new connections along the way. This is what the future of robotics looks like: open, hands-on, and human-centered.
