At subzero temperatures, lubricant behaves very differently. In this comparison between experimental results and our simulation, we see how viscosity changes affect distribution across input, middle, and output shafts. While deviations exist in fine details, key behaviors - like bearing fill - are well replicated. A short while ago, we shared how #shonDy predicts fuel sloshing in a tank without baffles, showing just how quickly mass shifts under cornering, acceleration, and braking. Now, let’s see what changes when static baffles are added to the same setup. Using driving data from Dr. Adam Stuchlik’s track session at the Lausitzring, this simulation reveals how baffles slow down fluid motion, reduce lateral shifts, and slightly improve pickup coverage. Cars and puddles don’t mix... unless you simulate them first! 🚗🌊 This case study shows how we replicated a sedan driving through a 6.3 m channel filled with standing water, at nearly 50 km/h, to predict splash dynamics and how they interact with suspension elements. In this simulation, we modeled fuel sloshing in a partially filled tank during a full lap around the Lausitzring. The tank has no baffles - just raw track forces acting on the fluid. Even with moderate driving input, you’ll see strong lateral fuel movement. With every corner, mass shifts sharply, hitting the tank walls, and in some cases, uncovering the fuel pickup.
