    🎒Zalando's Back to School season: fashion, family and fun 🎒 The Back to School season is one of the most exciting and important moments for families—and a huge bellwether for what’s trending in kids' fashion. For us, it’s a dynamic 11-week marathon that looks different across each of our 25 markets, reflecting diverse local traditions and school start times. Here are our top 3️⃣ takeaways: 🔸 Brand power: As kids turn into teens, they're discovering their style and gravitating toward brands. Our family customers sought out an incredible mix, from adidas, Nike, Jordan, and New Balance, to Polo Ralph Lauren and Jack & Jones Junior. 🔸 Must-haves: Outdoor jackets, sneakers, and sweaters were the runaway hits. And a surprise star: socks—creeping into our top 10 as we cover all our customers' needs! 🔸 Seamless shopping is key: Our Back to School Hub was the ultimate one-stop shop, helping customers explore trends and find everything they needed effortlessly. We clocked 2.7 million views in August alone, with our Sports campaign leading the charge! We capped the season by hosting our first-ever offline Kids' event: The Playground! Staged at Berlin’s iconic Tempelhofer Feld, we saw 11,000 sign-ups and hosted amazing workshops with six different brands. It was the perfect warm-up to the school year and a chance to connect with families in person. For us, Back to School is more than a shopping season; it’s a critical step in our journey to become Europe's leading fashion and lifestyle destination for the entire family.

    When you’re driving ambitious business growth, you need to act like an owner, and play as a team. That's why the focus of Lounge by Zalando's EXPO 2025 was 'Team Up to Double Up'. Over 18 teams were on the floor, not just talking strategy but actively showing how they’re building the future of our business, from interactive visualisations on inventory models to deep dives on product roadmaps. The main stage kept the momentum going. We heard from Elizabeth E. Carttar (Head of Sustainability) on the five ways we're "Walking the Talk" to drive sustainability, and Kenneth Melchior (VP Lounge) shared critical insights on learning from setbacks and turning challenges into success. Also taking the stage were Lisa Höger (Lead of the newly founded Content Optimization Team at zlCS), Eva Schneider (Lead Banner Post Production), and Juliane Meyer (Styling Manager), who demonstrated how collaboration between their teams is unlocking new levels of efficiency and creativity. Closing the keynotes, Astrid Arndt (CPO) demonstrated how smart collaboration amplifies our impact across the business. When para-athletes talk about adaptive clothing, they're not talking about minor adjustments; they're talking about freedom. As part of the lead-up to the BMW BERLIN MARATHON, we dove into conversations sparked by a panel talk with outstanding para-athletes Ali Lacin, Verena Bentele and Tina Deeken at the Zalando Run Zone. Their insights are powerful: 🔸 It's "armour:” Clothing designed for disabled people boosts confidence and comfort, serving as a powerful tool. 🔸 It's functional: Imagine pants with full-length side zippers—a total gamechanger for prosthesis users who need quick and comfortable access. These small design details make a massive difference in sport and daily life. 🔸 It’s access: Offering adaptive clothing that is both functional and stylish, including sportswear, helps make sports - and fashion - more inclusive.     Our mobile app just got a cross-platform superpower. 🚀 We recently combined our internal React-based UI composition framework Rendering Engine with React Native in a brownfield integration approach. This enables us to gradually modernise our Zalando mobile app while at the same time introducing cross-platform technologies to build shared experiences for App and Web.
