The First Group Hospitality
Sustainability is central to the daily operations of all our properties at The First Group Hospitality. It is reflected in a range of initiatives, from repurposing resources to decreasing energy use to strengthening local communities. Our hotel teams continually develop ideas to make a positive environmental and societal impact, often with standout creativity. We asked four General Managers to share a personal view on how sustainability matters to them as hoteliers. Arlette Richter-Picardo, General Manager of Hotel Local at Jumeirah Village Triangle, partnered with Hatta Honey to set up beehives, enabling the hotel’s restaurants to serve honey that is as natural and local as it gets. Libu Daniel, Cluster General Manager for Citadines Metro Central and Grand Heights Hotel, oversees a system that repurposes condensation water from rooftop fresh air handling units and fan coil units to irrigate indoor and outdoor plants, as well as a vegetable garden. Onur Avkan, Cluster General Manager for The First Collection at Jumeirah Village Circle, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel and Hotel Avalon, is keen on promoting an active lifestyle through an “Explore the Neighborhood” initiative that includes a running map designed for guests. Haytham Mounir, General Manager of TRYP By Wyndham Dubai, ensures all interior and exterior lights are LED and run on timers, with interior lights also using motion sensors to conserve energy. #Sustainability #Hospitality
