The round was led by HV Capital, with participation from AENU, Future Energy Ventures, and Angel Invest — a strong lineup of investors who believe in the future of dual land use: farming + solar. With Agri-PV, farmland stays farmland — harvests continue while solar power is generated above. That means: 🌾 More stable yields 💶 Additional income for farmers ⚡ A boost for the energy transition 💬 As CEO Adrian Renner puts it: “Farming and renewable energy can perfectly complement each other — creating lasting value and resilience for both agriculture and the climate.” The opportunity is enormous: over 2,900 GW of Agri-PV potential in Germany alone (Fraunhofer ISE). The clean energy transition demands reliability, not just innovation. That’s why at MEINE Electric, we have evolved from Aluminium-Air fuel cells to 𝗜𝗿𝗼𝗻-𝗔𝗶𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 (𝗟𝗗𝗘𝗦) 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀; a leap shaped by months of hands-on testing, deep technical learning and early validation of product-market fit. Our early work with aluminium-air revealed a critical insight: while it offered impressive energy density, the need for physical aluminium replacement and its non-rechargeable nature made scaling to APAC’s energy needs impractical. The industry doesn’t just need innovation; it needs reliable, low-cost and daily-cycling performance. That’s why we pivoted. Our choice of iron-air wasn’t about chasing hype, but driven by: • Delivering repeatable, 𝟮𝟰-𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲, directly matching APAC’s grid duty cycles and solving the “round-the-clock firming” challenge amidst high renewable penetration and worsening grid instability. • A focus on real, deployable solutions for DISCOMs, IPPs and EPCs. • Completing the energy stack by complementing lithium-ion SDES with our LDES solution. • Non-flammable, abundant materials make iron air robust across diverse and extreme APAC climates with indigenous supply chains. I am happy to report that since the pivot, we have achieved the following key milestones: • Validated iron-air at cell level and progressing towards a repeatable 𝟭𝗸𝗪/𝟮𝟱𝗸𝗪𝗵 system. • Designed with abundant, low-cost materials, iron, water, and air; targeting an 𝗟𝗖𝗢𝗦 𝗼𝗳 ~$𝟬.𝟬𝟴/𝗸𝗪𝗵. • Strengthened our electrochemistry and systems engineering capabilities to de-risk science and accelerate pilot readiness. Germany's next industrial chapter needs hardware start-ups and scale-ups to take centre stage 🔧 We've just joined over 80 companies through Tech for Net Zero in submitting a letter to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy: with a clear message for the new Start-up and Scale-up Strategy that is being developed: hardware start-ups and scale-ups deserve their own dedicated support framework. The letter outlines three game-changing proposals: 🏭 Hardware start-ups and scale-ups as their own pillar - Recognising that we need pilot plants, demo projects, and longer development cycles 💰 Federal credit guarantees - Enabling banks to provide debt financing for capital-intensive equipment (keeping costs under 100 basis points) 📊 Mobilise private capital - Removing regulatory barriers so institutional investors can back technologies towards industrialisation As a battery recycling company, this resonates strongly with us. Building industrial-scale facilities requires substantial upfront investment in machinery and infrastructure. Whilst the start-up ecosystem has brilliantly supported digital innovation, hardware companies face fundamentally different challenges that need bespoke solutions.

🔋 Salzgitter PowerCenter: Our Unified Cell Powers the Energy Transition Germany has installed over 2 million battery storage systems, with a total usable capacity of 22.1 GWh. But here’s the catch: more than 80% of this capacity comes from small residential systems, typically paired with rooftop solar. They provide green energy – but they don’t stabilize the grid. They don’t deliver on windless evenings. And they don’t stop feeding in when demand is already covered. ⚡ What we need now is grid-supporting storage – especially as renewable generation continues to expand rapidly. 💡 What if batteries didn’t just power electric vehicles, but also delivered green energy to the grid – precisely when and where it’s needed? With our battery-based energy storage solutions, this vision is becoming reality. We’re proud to announce the launch of our first large-scale stationary storage project – right here in our hometown of Salzgitter. #CO2 #regulation 📢 Germany launches preparatory process for the 2026 bidding round of Carbon Contracts for Difference (Klimaschutzverträge) ➡️ Source: https://lnkd.in/e9EF4-T2 On 6 October, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) initiated the preparatory phase for the 2026 bidding round of CO2-Differenzverträge (Carbon Contracts for Difference, CCfDs), one of the key funding instruments supporting the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries. ✅ Main purposes of the CCfDs: 📌 CCfDs protect companies investing in low-carbon production processes against price risks. Fluctuations in CO2 and energy prices, as well as cost differences compared to conventional production processes, are compensated over a period of 15 years. 📌 The contracts also aim to accelerate the market ramp-up of new technologies (e.g. industrial heat pumps, hydrogen applications, CO2 capture and storage, and energy storage technologies) and to help establish innovative production processes on the market. ☑️ Eligibility requirements: 📌 Companies are free to decide how to convert their production processes in line with the energy sources used (electricity, low-carbon hydrogen, biomass). 📌 The only requirements are milestones for CO2 savings: 60% from the third year and 90% in the final year of the contract term. 📌 Companies are remunerated based on the actual CO2 savings achieved. 📌 The CCfDs are also open to small and medium-sized enterprises with smaller production facilities. 📅 Schedule: ▪️ Participation in the preparatory phase until 1 December 2025 is required for companies wishing to submit bids in 2026. ⚠️ The bidding process remains subject to budgetary approval and state aid clearance by the European Commission. 📘 More information and documentation on the preparatory process are available at https://lnkd.in/e-5APeaU
