🇪🇺 Europe urgently needs to close the innovation gap in digital technology and AI to remain competitive. Putting billions into bricks & chips will do little to address the real opportunity. To ensure Europe’s competitiveness and capitalise on the AI opportunity for Europe, we need to build on our strength in industry to apply AI in sectors like automotive and process industries. Strategic investments in applied AI and partnerships with technology leaders can spearhead this shift, along with reforms such as reducing bureaucracy, offering R&D tax incentives, and enhancing AI education 🔧💡 Navigating data privacy, sovereignty, and AI is essential for maintaining Europe’s competitive edge. But our digital future should go beyond the current discussions about new data centers 🌐 Digital sovereignty needs to emphasize self-determination rather than seeking isolation. This means ensuring data, legal and operational sovereignty with unified European standards 🤝 while leveraging the best technology and infrastructure available.
