Sometimes, family firms need to raise money and work with private equity investors.   But do private equity investors actually want to put their money into family firms? Our new study, which has just been published in Journal of Family Business Strategy, looks into this.   Together with Dr. Sören Paleit, Marcel Hülsbeck, and Frederik Riar we performed a conjoint experiment with over 400 private equity investors, and it turns out that PE pros think family firms have more potential for value creation. The world’s most innovative country: Switzerland The 18th edition of WIPO’s Global Innovation Index assesses innovation performance across 139 countries, analyzing trends in investment, technological advancement, adoption and socioeconomic impact. Switzerland continues to lead as the world’s most innovative country for the 15th (!) year in a row, followed by Sweden, the United States, South Korea and Singapore in the top five. China moved into the top 10 of this annual ranking of most innovative countries for the first time, replacing Europe‘s largest economy, Germany. 📈💲 Higher #compensation for #DAX board members: Remuneration Rises Again Executive board members of DAX companies earned around three percent more in 2024 than in the previous year. This results from the annual study by Professor Dr. Maximilian Blaschke, TUM Chair of Management Accounting, and Professor Dr. Jürgen Ernstberger, TUM Full Professorship Financial Accounting, in cooperation with Deutsche Schutzvereinigung für Wertpapierbesitz e.V. (DSW). 🍃 The ESG criteria (environmental, social, and governance) continue to play a central role. Robotaxis are coming to Switzerland next year - and one company will launch them in a rather unusual location. Here’s what to expect.   Driverless taxis are a normal sight in cities like San Francisco or Austin. Soon, you might also be able to spot them in the Swiss countryside.   Wait, did he just say ‘countryside’?   Yes, that’s indeed Chinese tech company Baidu’s plan.    Instead of launching their robotaxi service in cities, where there are many options for getting from one place to the other already, Baidu rather wants to fill the gap in public transport in rural areas starting.    This way, they plan to solve the last-mile-problem of multimodal transport.    While Switzerland has a great public transport network, it can still be difficult to get from the station to your doorstep using busses if you live rather remotely - especially outside of the main hours.    To my knowledge, this would make it the first commercial robotaxi service in the world outside of cities. I find it quite an interesting decision - so let’s see how rural commuters will use the service once it's live.    Many experts would probably argue that there’s not enough demand outside of peak times for such a service to be a commercial success.    But who knows, why should a convenient new service not create its own demand?    #robotaxis   https://lnkd.in/dRkyZiCy
