Revolutionizing Freight Transport in India 🚆 After two years of planning, building, and collaboration since winning the contract to deliver 1200 electric locomotives, we are celebrating a significant milestone! With support from our teams in Nashik, Aurangabad, and Mumbai, final assembly at Indian Railways’ new Dahod facility is ready to roll. And to mark the occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first D9 9,000 HP locomotive. What does this project mean for India? 📦 India moves almost 1.6 billion tonnes of freight each year 🚂 Each of the locomotives haul up to 5,800 tonnes each 🌱 Potential to increase rail freight share from 27% to 45% 🌍 Saving an estimated 800+ million tons of CO₂ 🚛 Replacing 500,000 - 800,000 trucks over the lifecycle Very exciting times for sustainable freight travel in a country on the move 😊 #TransformTheEveryday

🚆 A Landmark Moment for UK Rail 🇬🇧 This week marks a proud milestone for #TeamSiemens and our partners as the Northern City Line in London became the UK’s first commuter railway to operate without visible trackside signals - a major achievement for the £1.4bn (€1.64bn) East Coast Digital Programme (ECDP). For the first time in over a century, traditional signals have been removed. In their place, drivers now receive real-time instructions via in-cab screens, powered by our European Train Control System (ETCS) technology on our Class 717 trains. This milestone is another step forward in our mission to #TransformMobilityForEveryone, setting new standards for railway reliability and efficiency. 👉 Slide the carousel to see how our cutting edge tech brings track and train together.
