#WestfieldCentro further strengthens its entertainment profile: CineStar Deutschland comprehensively modernises its cinema complex and plans IMAX cinema! Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Germany and #CineStar are sending a strong signal at Westfield Centro and setting new standards for the cinema experience in Germany. Alongside the extension of the partnership, extensive modernisation work will be carried out on the cinema complex. In addition to architectural elements such as a new highlight façade and a new marketplace concept, the entire cinema will be completely refurbished. CineStar is also planning to install an IMAX cinema in auditorium 5, making it its fifth IMAX cinema in Germany. The investment costs for the project are 16 million euros. The renovation work will begin in the third quarter of 2025 and is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2026. As part of our annual #CommunityDay, teams across Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield united to pursue and to contribute to one shared goal: Creating social value in our communities. Brands x URWGermany ZARA SA opened its largest flagship store in Germany last weekend at #WestfieldCentro in Oberhausen! And the Inditex brand, together with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Germany, is setting new standards for experience-orientated brick-and-mortar retail! In a newly designed unit covering 6,000 sqm of rental area, Zara presents an extensive selection of women's, men's and children's fashion and exemplifies its latest store concept: modern design and innovative technology combined with a shopping experience that seamlessly connects digital and offline offers. In addition to the classic collections, visitors can expect exclusive lines such as Zara Origins, the sports line Zara Athleticz, an area for shoes and bags as well as a limited lingerie collection. Zara had relocated within the flagship destination and doubled its rental area. With a total area of 260,800 sqm, Westfield Centro is the largest shopping and leisure destination in Germany. #PalaisVest: We are delighted to announce the successful #restoration of the historic “Stadthaus”, a part of the Palais Vest complex in Recklinghausen – a project that impressively combines tradition and modern architecture. After an intensive construction period from autumn 2020 to the end of 2024, during which the listed façade was extensively covered and carefully restored, the building now shines again in its original, magnificent design from 1908. Particularly impressive is the fact that it has been almost completely preserved from the time it was built: the ornate sandstone elements and intricate plaster decorations have been carefully restored to preserve their historical charm. The Stadthaus building is an important mixed-use element of Palais Vest, right in the city centre. The city of Recklinghausen is a long-standing tenant, using it as a location for public authorities. A big thank you to the city of Recklinghausen and all the partners involved, whose commitment and expertise made this impressive project possible in collaboration with Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Germany. The stores are scheduled to open in spring 2025. At #WestfieldCentro in Oberhausen, Prada brought luxury and innovation to the stage with the Paradoxe campaign, including impressive digital productions, an interactive runway and a virtual mirror experience. Rituals (B Corp™) invited visitors to enjoy feel-good moments, while SEPHORA and NYX Professional Makeup brought beauty trends to life. Yves Saint Laurent Beauty made a glamorous statement with a luxurious brand staging, while Rabanne surprised visitors with highlights such as the Halo Cube and an interactive shopper tunnel. Another highlight: Nintendo made gaming fans shine with interactive experiences centred around Pokémon. #MezzoMix (The Coca-Cola Company)and Netflix captivated fans in Munich’s #PasingArcaden with a campaign centred around the dating show “Love is Blind”. In Vienna's #WestfieldDonauZentrum, Josera Petfood showed how sustainability and animal welfare can go hand in hand – an activation that left a lasting impression. And to coincide with UEFA EURO 2024, adidas and Hisense Group combined sport and technology in an interactive experience. Brands x URWGermany More than 15 new deals at #WestfieldCentro: implementation of further flagship formats and strengthening of branch mix! Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Germany is once again strengthening the attractiveness of the shopping and leisure destination in North Rhine-Westphalia: for this purpose, rental areas of anchor partners are being comprehensively expanded to establish flagship formats and, at the same time, new brands are being brought on board to further diversify the product range at the centre. In this context, Westfield Centro is also announcing several market entries in Germany. Among others, Stradivarius is opening a new store at Westfield Centro next year, while the other Inditex brands Bershka and PULL&BEAR are modernizing and expanding their rental areas. Meanwhile, the conversion of the new 6,000 sqm unit for the future Zara flagship store is in full swing. Other fashion anchors are also establishing larger and updated store formats, such as New Yorker, which will triple its size, and JACK & JONES, which will also modernize its space. With these extensive partnerships, Westfield Centro is strengthening its position as the leading destination for flagship stores and state of the art store concepts of world-renowned brands. In line with the positioning and leasing strategy for the asset, URW has also concluded partnerships with trend-conscious and premium brands that strengthen the depth and diversity of the branch mix. #WestfieldRise What does it take to establish a brand long-term? For Polestar, it was the collaboration with Westfield Rise that transformed a temporary test-drive pavilion into a permanent showroom at #WestfieldRuhrPark in Bochum. In 2022, the Swedish electric car manufacturer launched an innovative test-drive concept, supported by a comprehensive media campaign managed by Westfield Rise. The center's proximity to major roads and its excellent accessibility made it a magnet for visitors. Such collaborations underline the attractiveness and appeal of the shopping and leisure destination, which was rebranded as Westfield Ruhr Park in autumn this year. Today, Westfield Ruhr Park is home to a modern Polestar Space with a sleek glass façade that embodies the future of electric mobility – a remarkable example of how flexible and impactful Westfield Rise retail campaigns can be. Update Sheltersuit x URW We are very proud to announce that we have successfully concluded the joint initiative with Sheltersuit Foundation and local aid organisations in Germany and Austria for 2024! Together we have achieved a lot: this year we have already been able to help more than 400 homeless people. Engagement in numbers: - All in all, more than 800 Sheltersuits and -bags could be provided since the start of the cooperation in fall 2021 - From this year’s donations a total of 460 Sheltersuits- and bags will be distributed to those in need until January 2025 - 6,155 kg of waste and residual materials were upcycled - This has resulted in 6,778 hours of work at Sheltersuit Foundation’s factory where many former homeless people and refugees work - In 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 a total of more than € 200,000 in donations was collected from our customers, tenants and URW colleagues These results from 4 years are a great success. We would like to thank everyone who supported us in our initiative with Sheltersuit Foundation. In view of the great need, this joint campaign is more important than ever. Special thanks goes to Bart Nijsink and Paul Zurink from Sheltersuit Foundation as well as Ströer Media Deutschland GmbH who supported us to increase awareness for this important initiative and therefore increase the overall donations.
