Powering the future of fermentation
Om os
At Aerbio, we harness the power of microbiology to convert carbon dioxide and hydrogen into sustainable protein. With our sugar-free fermentation, we grow natural, healthy protein for the animal feed industry. Our first product, Proton, offers up to a 90% smaller carbon footprint than traditional protein sources. Our process works all year round, requires no arable land, has no impact on the local environment and no weather dependency whatsoever.

A day of big steps forward at Aerbio We’re thrilled to share some important updates that mark real progress in our journey. It’s all summed up in the article published today in the Danish business media Børsen, featuring insights from Chr. Olesen Group CEO Mads C. Olesen and our CEO Kaspar Kristiansen. The occasion is Chr. Olesen Group joining our investor group, contributing to an oversubscribed bridge loan. A strong signal of confidence from both new and existing investors. We are proud to be able to attract investors like Chr. Olesen Group who have been in the protein market for decades. This is a validation of what we do, how we do it and the journey we are on. The investment marks the beginning of an extended business collaboration, as Chr. Olesen Group has also committed to investing in the next larger capital raise, which we now kick-off on our route to commercialisation. The bridge loan will help activate a strategic partnership with an international collaborator. This move will significantly accelerate our development and reduce key risks as we scale. As for our product Proton™, ongoing tests and trials continue to deliver highly convincing results. This has generated strong interest, and we expect to finalise significant commercial partnerships before the end of the year. We’re grateful for the trust and support from new and current investors, and excited to embark on these new business relationships. Follow the link in the comments to read Børsens article (subscription required) or/and our press release from today. #Aerbio #ChrOlesenGroup #Aquafeed #Biotech #foodproduction #GreenTransition

What if CO₂ wasn’t the problem but part of the solution? That is one of the topics we’re excited to explore, when Aerbio joins next week’s conference “Decarbonisation – What to do with it?” at the Innovation Summit hosted by Icos Capital in Amsterdam. Aerbio’s Niels Schiander, Business Development, will be part of the expert panel exploring how CO₂ can be transformed from a challenge into a resource. The discussion brings together voices from biotech, cleantech, and venture capital to address one of the most pressing questions in climate innovation. At Aerbio, we work with bioprocesses where CO₂ plays a central role. Not just as a byproduct, but as an essential input in future protein production. Participating in this dialogue is key to promote and support the innovative solutions that we critically need for the issues of the future. We’re looking forward to engage with fellow innovators and investors, and to contribute to the conversation on how science, policy, and business can and must align to accelerate decarbonisation. #ICOSCapital #Aerbio #foodtech #sustainability #decarbonisation #innovation #biotech #biosolutions

We’re proud to share that Aerbio, together with our engineering partners Otto Simon Ltd (OSL), have been shortlisted as finalists for the 2025 Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Global Awards! The IChemE is widely regarded as the leading international body for chemical, biochemical, and process engineers, with members in over 120 countries. The Global Awards were first presented in 1994 and have been referred to as the Oscars of chemical engineering. Past finalists include distinguished companies such as BP, Johnson Matthey, Haldor Topsøe, and FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies. Shortlisted in the Biopharma Award category, our project “Clean Protein: Engineered for a Resource-Constrained World” highlights breakthrough innovations in industrial biotechnology. The novel bioprocess at the heart of the project required a pioneering approach to integrating feed and food quality standards with the rigorous safety requirements associated with handling hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and oxygen. This nomination is an acknowledgment of our commitment to advancing sustainable biosolutions, and we’re honoured to be recognised alongside this years other nominees, including PM Group, Eli Lilly & Co, Merck & Co, and Novartis Pharma. A big thank you to the world-class engineering team at Aerbio led by Katie Mulligan, and the incredible multidisciplinary team at OSL led by Peter Creer, who together have moved mountains to deliver on our vision. Our opportunity to deliver on this vision is a result of the continued support of our fantastic investor base, and innovation funding from the EIC - European Innovation Council and the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (ESNZ). We look forward to the awards dinner on 20th November in Manchester! #IChemE #ChemicalEngineering #GlobalAwards #Aerbio #CleanProtein #IndustrialBiotech

Aerbio will be exhibiting at Future of Protein Production Amsterdam on 29 & 30 October at RAI Amsterdam! Aerbio is a pioneering biotechnology company using gas fermentation technology to produce sustainable and nutritious protein. Aerbio harnesses an advanced gas fermentation technology to transform carbon dioxide and hydrogen into Proton™, the company’s low-carbon protein ingredient. Proton™ is a highly digestible, high-protein ingredient designed to enhance nutrition in animal and human diets, which represents a cost-competitive alternative to conventional protein sources. This technology works all year round, requires no arable land, has no impact on the local environment and no weather dependency, meaning it’s both sustainable and resilient to food security threats. 📍Come visit Aerbio at stand 18 at the Future of Protein Production Amsterdam! 🔖 Attending the exhibtion? Our CEO Kaspar Kristiansen was recently interviewed by AgriWatch – a Danish media outlet covering agriculture, food production, and agribusiness. We appreciate the opportunity to share our perspective and highlight our product and the work we’re doing.
