    The fashion industry must transform – and we support making it happen.    In our latest financial year, we invested DKK 100 million through our investment platform, Invest FWD, in companies that contribute to innovation in our industry.  One of the two is matterr, a German cleantech company. In short, matterr is set to scale an innovative technology for the chemical recycling of polyester from hard-to-recycle worn-out textiles and packaging waste. The process delivers drop-in ready raw materials, identical to virgin quality.   To make a difference in the industry, scalability is key – and backed by investments, matterr will start building its small-scale industrial plant in 2026. Once completed, the facility is designed to process 10,000 tonnes of polyester-rich waste into virgin-quality raw materials each year. Want to know more?   • Last week, our annual report launch grabbed headlines. But just as importantly, we also released our supply chain due diligence report. The report offers a detailed look at how we identify and address risks related to human rights, environmental impact, and product safety in our direct and near direct supply chain. Felicity Tapsell, Head of Responsible Sourcing, puts it clearly: “Our greatest human rights and environmental risks lie within our supply chain. We have robust systems and qualified people working together with suppliers, industry partners, and other stakeholders to address challenges both at factory level and across the wider industry. This report provides transparency into our processes and progress." Our approach to due diligence follows guidance from international bodies like the OECD and the United Nations. This is our second supply chain due diligence report, and the launch marks another step in our journey to be more transparent about our supply chain operations – and we’re constantly striving to become better.   • Meet Vanessa Decooman, Co-Country Manager of BESTSELLER Belgium 👋 Vanessa grew up in the French-speaking part of Belgium – and her journey into the fashion industry began early. Her stepmother owned a clothing store, and as a child, she spent most of her time there. “I remember stepping into one of the suppliers’ showrooms. It was a revelation. I knew right then and there – this is what I want to do for a living,” says Vanessa. From that moment, she pursued every opportunity to get closer to the world of fashion – through internships and summer jobs. At 21, Vanessa landed her first wholesale job with a luxury children’s brand, working as a sales representative for a French company. Seven years later, she was ready for something new. “When a recruitment agency put me in touch with BESTSELLER, I was intrigued from the start,” says Vanessa and elaborates on the first job interview: “I immediately sensed the energy – the pace, the dynamic atmosphere. Suddenly I found myself in a world of diverse brands, constant movement, an array of collections. It was almost like a dream to me.” Vanessa joined VILA, where she was asked to develop the brand in the French-speaking part of Belgium. “Building something from the ground up has always been a source of motivation,” says Vanessa whose BESTSELLER journey includes several positions before stepping into her current role. “What appeals to me most is working across departments. That diversity of scope – the multifaceted nature of the role is something I love.” So, what has kept her at BESTSELLER for nearly 20 years? “The trust I receive, and the sense that within BESTSELLER, anything is possible. There’s always room to try, to test, to explore new ideas,” says Vanessa. Outside work, Vanessa lives in Brussels with her partner of 25 years, Laurent. Together they share a passion for car racing: “There’s something about placing myself in that space just outside my comfort zone – always with safety in mind, of course – that energizes me.
