🧠💓 At the recent ESC Cardiovascular Conference in Madrid, a new clinical consensus statement on Mental Health and Cardiovascular Disease was released – a notable step in recognising the connections between mental health and heart health. For too long, mental health has been underrepresented in cardiovascular care. This statement, shaped by a multidisciplinary task force and including the voices of patients themselves, calls for integrating mental health assessment and management into person-centred cardiovascular care. This aligns closely with ESCAPE’s methodology and the utilisation of a biopsychosocial approach to treat older adults.
