Preventing future pandemics depends on faster detection and stronger global collaboration. To support this, the Novo Nordisk Foundation is funding the establishment of the Global Pathogen Analysis Platform (GPAP) at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. This new AI-driven infrastructure will provide a state-of-the art, analytical toolkit for analysing genomic pathogen data and will be freely available to users worldwide. Developed with partners across Europe, Africa, and Asia, GPAP aims to strengthen global preparedness and ensure that advanced technologies are accessible in all part of the world.

Steno Diabetes Center Faroe Islands - SDCF is now seeing good results from a simple method for early detection of diabetes: integrating diabetes screening into routine hospital admissions. Now, when a patient is admitted to the medical ward at the National Hospital in Torshavn for any reason, the patient gets a blood sugar test in addition to the standard measurements of temperature and blood pressure. If the blood sugar level is abnormal, further steps can be taken. While the project is still being evaluated, this new procedure has already detected dozens of new cases of diabetes and pre-diabetes, leading to potentially more effective early treatment. Breakthroughs happen at the intersection of disciplines 🚀 The Novo Nordisk Foundation Science Cluster is built on this belief, that the future of life science depends on collaboration across fields, institutions and industries. When biologists meet data scientists, when clinicians exchange ideas with engineers, new possibilities emerge. Through conferences, symposiums and networking activities, the Science Cluster provides a platform for these connections to take shape, from early-career researchers to world-leading scientists. Each event is designed to inspire dialogue, strengthen collaboration, and advance progress in biomedicine and biotechnology. 🎥 Watch the video to experience the spirit of the Science Cluster Conferences and discover how interdisciplinary science drives innovation and impact. 🔗To stay updated, make sure you sign up for our newsletter: https://lnkd.in/dyGezhcF

Today marks an important milestone for Denmark’s quantum ambitions. With the launch of 55 North – the world’s largest venture fund dedicated to quantum technologies – Denmark takes another decisive step toward building a complete quantum ecosystem. At the Novo Nordisk Foundation, we see quantum as a field where Denmark can lead globally. From supporting the Niels Bohr Institute, University of Copenhagen and Quantum Foundry Copenhagen programme to build a fault-tolerant quantum computer, to co-investing in QuNorth, and helping establish Quantum Denmark, we are advancing the entire value chain. 55 North now adds the final critical element: risk capital. By enabling start-ups and scale-ups to transform world-class science into real-world solutions, the fund completes the link from research to commercialisation. Headquartered in Copenhagen, 55 North has secured DKK 1 billion at first close, with Novo Holdings and EIFO as cornerstone investors. Denmark’s unique model of public–private collaboration is proving its value – placing us and Europe at the forefront of the quantum era. #Quantum #Innovation #DeepTech
