Preventing future pandemics depends on faster detection and stronger global collaboration.   To support this, the Novo Nordisk Foundation is funding the establishment of the Global Pathogen Analysis Platform (GPAP) at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. This new AI-driven infrastructure will provide a state-of-the art, analytical toolkit for analysing genomic pathogen data and will be freely available to users worldwide.   Developed with partners across Europe, Africa, and Asia, GPAP aims to strengthen global preparedness and ensure that advanced technologies are accessible in all part of the world.

Steno Diabetes Center Faroe Islands - SDCF is now seeing good results from a simple method for early detection of diabetes: integrating diabetes screening into routine hospital admissions.   Now, when a patient is admitted to the medical ward at the National Hospital in Torshavn for any reason, the patient gets a blood sugar test in addition to the standard measurements of temperature and blood pressure. If the blood sugar level is abnormal, further steps can be taken.   While the project is still being evaluated, this new procedure has already detected dozens of new cases of diabetes and pre-diabetes, leading to potentially more effective early treatment.     Read more on the Steno Center website: https://lnkd.in/dHKY3Utp

Today marks an important milestone for Denmark’s quantum ambitions. With the launch of 55 North – the world’s largest venture fund dedicated to quantum technologies – Denmark takes another decisive step toward building a complete quantum ecosystem.
