Paving the way for e-fuels innovation in Germany 🙌   We’re proud to join forces with the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Sasol and Griesemann Gruppe to advance the next chapter in sustainable aviation fuels.   Under a new cooperation agreement, we’ll deliver our joint technologies for producing e-fuels and in particular eSAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) with Sasol. Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cell (SOEC) technology delivers higher hydrogen output per unit of power compared to industry alternatives, maximizing the impact of renewable energy sources. With demand for green hydrogen production projected to increase tenfold by 2050, it’s time to scale this state-of-the-art technology. Being surrounded by passionate and talented colleagues makes every day meaningful, and after so many years here, it feels like a second family. I’ve spent 28 years in R&D, but what drives me most – at work and in life – is curiosity and the joy of learning. Every year, I challenge myself to try something new that scares me. This year it was a tandem jump. 🪂 Next year, I’ve set my sights on scuba diving. I’ve learned that fear never fully goes away – but if you walk through it, you often find growth and sometimes even joy, on the other side. Outside of work, I love winter bathing and I’m rarely without a book. My all-time favorite is The Shadow of the Wind – I’ve read it three times and its magic never fades. Enabling blue methanol at scale 🌎    We’re excited to announce that Sandpiper Chemicals, LLC has chosen Topsoe as the technology provider for their upcoming blue methanol plant in Texas City. Leveraging our SynCOR™ technology with carbon capture, the facility is expected to produce 3,000 metric tons per day of blue methanol – starting in 2030, subject to final investment decision. Blue methanol is an offers alternative to conventional grey methanol. With methanol demand expected to reach 120–150 million tons by 2030, this project represents a major step forward in helping industries – such as maritime shipping – cut emissions at scale.
