Overview
RIOM is a controller programmable in language IEC 61131-3 with the STRATON Workbench from
COPA-DATA.
RIOM hardware implementation is described in the installation guide.
Prerequisite
The developpement of applications on RIOM STRATON requires knowledge of programming in
IEC61131-3 languages.
The actual implementation of the RIOM requires skills in electricity and industrial automation.
Required equipments are:
A development PC running minimum Windows 7, with an RS232 port and an Ethernet
network card.
A RS232 cross cable (2-3, 3-2, 5-5 only) female and male SubD9 connectors.
An Ethernet cable: RJ45 and M12 connectors.

This documentation describes features included in the RIOM running with STRATON runtime.

1 Quick start
1.1. Overview
This chapter describes all the required operations to implement and test a basic program for the
RIOM in less than 15 minutes.
We detail in this chapter the following steps:
Installing STRATON Workbench
Creating a new project
Downloading and debuging
1.2. Installing STRATON Workbench
1.2.1. Installation of STRATON workbench
Insert the STRATON DVD Rom in your PC, and then run the installation of the Workbench.
If you are using a STRATON licence key on an USB donggle, you need to install too the Wibukey
USB driver.
Enter your licence key (software or donggle) with the tool "License Manager": it can be run from
the Windows start menu and then the menu “STRATON/Licence”.
1.2.2. Integration of Leroy Automation libraries for STRATON
workbench
Start STRATON Library Manager with the new link from the Windows start menu.
Open the menu “Tools/Import” (link 1), and then select the Leroy library file, present on the
Leroy Automation CD-ROM "RIOM_STRATON_LNX_xx": file “RIOM_straton_libraries_Vxx.XL5”.
After I mporting, the different libraries appear in the Library manager (link 2):
