We’re thrilled to welcome Liilia Kärner to our team as our Summer Engineering Intern! Over the summer Liilia will lead a hands-on project to build an embedded data-logging system for our prototype small-scale rocket: • Hardware assembly & sensor integration – soldering a Raspberry Pi Zero flight stack with pressure, 6DOF IMU, GNSS and temperature sensors. • Core Python firmware – writing robust real-time code to capture every byte of telemetry from launch to landing. • Post-flight analytics – delivering scripts and dashboards that turn raw data into engineering insight. This internship spans the full product lifecycle—from bench to blast-off—giving Liilia end-to-end ownership and the chance to see her code literally take off. We're pleased to announce that Skudo has been selected for two prestigious European Defence Fund (EDF) grants, reinforcing our commitment to advancing European cybersecurity and space technology capabilities. HSM4COM Project (EDF 2023) €3M Investment | Satellite Communication Security As part of an international consortium coordinated by Miltech Hellas, we're developing advanced security solutions for small satellite data transmission. This project addresses the growing need for robust cybersecurity in space communications infrastructure. The work has just started with a Kick-Off in Athens. SIGMA Project (EDF 2024) €5.8M Investment | Space Integrated system for GNSS Monitoring and Analysis Working alongside M3 Systems (France, Coordinator), Latitude (France), and EnduroSat (Bulgaria), we're developing a satellite-based system to detect and characterize GNSS jamming and spoofing threats. The project will deploy RF signal analyzers on satellite platforms to monitor Earth's surface for positioning system disruptions. Selected under EDF's competitive non-thematic SME development actions, SIGMA represents a 24-month effort to demonstrate real-world operational capabilities in space-based threat detection. These grants reflect the European Commission's continued investment in collaborative defense innovation, with €1 billion allocated across 62 new EDF projects in 2024. For Skudo, they validate our technical expertise in critical security domains and strengthen our role in European defense technology development.
