Reflection on/Highlights from 2024: 2024 presented significant challenges, but I persevered. Despite instability and difficult circumstances, I successfully completed my bachelor's degree and commenced preparations for my master's degree while continuing to pursue my professional goals. I believe in a dynamic career path, one that embraces exploration and aligns with personal passions. Rather than climbing a traditional career ladder, I prioritize seeking roles that resonate with my skills and values, allowing for growth and meaningful contributions. Driven by this philosophy, I pursued an opportunity to work in the archives field, which is something I always wanted. And being a part of the teamwork of Nile Melodies Archive was the first step. I shared with Nile Melodies Archive the same passionate vision dedicated to preserving Sudanese art and heritage and re-presenting it in the best way to the next generations. Working amidst the challenges of a war, we diligently developed work methods, established a data storage system, and laid the groundwork for future expansion. This experience fostered a deep appreciation for Sudanese art and its history. In last August, I had an internship opportunity at Shubra's Archive, which provided me with valuable insights into the practical aspects of archival work. Direct interaction with physical archives offered a new perspective on my work experience with archive research, analysis, and knowledge production. I will delve deeper into these experiences and the challenges encountered in subsequent posts.
