Today, Amazon Web Services (AWS) experienced a major disruption, impacting companies and users worldwide — including the official UK government platform. AWS powers a huge proportion of the world's internet infrastructure. This is an interesting reflection on how much we depend on big clouds. A shocking realisation that a single American company can affect critical platforms in another country, such as the UK. This raises important questions about the monopolistic nature of technologies as such, digital dependency, national sovereignty, and even the geopolitical implications of centralized cloud infrastructure. #AWS #cloud #bigclouds #digitaldependency #cloudinfrastructure #AmazonWebServices #AIEthics #technology #ethicaltechnology https://lnkd.in/eQYXKvT2

Meta’s move to monetise AI conversations isn’t innovation. This isn’t about “improving ad products”, but deteriorating societies. Private, Ethical and Sustainable AI initiatives will thrive in this panorama. https://lnkd.in/eDQW9SzT

Talking with Maria Vidal we discussed at what point regulation should be established in the #AI development process. While #regulation is key to ensure an ethical AI, perhaps it wouldn't be as necessary if we invested more in educating people, starting from schools and universities. Not only the lawmakers or the regulators should know about the potential of AI, it is crucial for the engineers to know how to design an AI that is ethical. Lawyers should gain technical knowledge and engineers must know regulation and ethics. Would the future of AI regulation shift if we start educating people about AI from now? 🤔 Watch the full discussion here! 👉 https://lnkd.in/eZaUYjQT #AI #AIethics #ethicalAI #Technology #AIRegulation

A church in Texas played an AI audio clip of Charlie Kirk saying words he never said. Be Right Back is the name of the #BlackMirror episode where a woman can communicate with her boyfriend who recently died with AI technology, the AI emulates her boyfriends behavior by analysing his past online communications and social media profiles. Is she really communicating with him? Or with his behavioral surplus? Are we we hearing what Kirk would say or is it merely predicted #data based on past behavior? Does this sound familiar to this current situation? 🤔 https://lnkd.in/ebsg6BFK #AI #AIEthics #LLM #BehavioralSurplus #predicteddata #behaviorism

Data Controllers continue to make awful decisions. And this is just the beginning. These leaks are being normalised. Hacking is a default for the many who continue to mindlessly integrate AI tools designed for data extraction. https://lnkd.in/et4efgSu

In a Conversation with Maria Vidal, Technology Lawyer, we delve into debates around AI Regulation in different fields: Who is accountable for AI misinformation? Can technology amplify social biases? Are regulation and innovation truly opposites? 🤔 Thank you María for your time and this very interesting conversation available in Spanish with English subtitles in our YouTube channel 😊 https://lnkd.in/e7TZ-mma #AI #AIRegulation #AIEthics #Technology Maria Vidal finReg360 👏

Obvious Incongruence. Amazon doesn't equal Fresh. As Amazon doesn't equal sustainability or ethical commerce. https://lnkd.in/e6K5KYub Protect the identity of your cities, the fabric of their identity. Local shops are vital. Resist by proposing and growing alternatives. Check motiveMarket.com :)

Parents outraged as Meta uses photos of schoolgirls in ads targeting man. A company spokesperson said: “The images shared do not violate our policies and are back-to-school photos posted publicly by parents. We have systems in place to help make sure we don’t recommend Threads shared by teens, or that go against our recommendation guidelines, and users can control whether Meta suggests their public posts on Instagram.” https://lnkd.in/dgZv243Q
