On my way back to Barcelona after a few truly inspiring days, where I had the opportunity to exchange ideas about the present and future of our ecosystem with Europe’s community of innovators, venture capital, and private equity leaders. - I especially enjoyed engaging with the Empowering Equity Academy, an initiative by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Investment Fund (EIF) that brings together brilliant students eager to learn more about #VentureCapital and #PrivateEquity. - It was an honor to take part in the #EmpoweringEquity event — a gathering of exceptional talent working to advance equity across finance and innovation. It’s clear that a lack of diversity remains one of our ecosystem’s greatest missed opportunities for growth. Building a truly inclusive venture capital landscape isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s a necessity. - Finally, joining the #UglyDuck for the first time was a deeply enriching experience. I learned a great deal from fund managers across Europe, reflecting together on today’s landscape with real data and, above all, the challenges shaping tomorrow. Many thanks to the fantastic teams at the EIF and EIB for bringing such meaningful conversations to life. And one more thought — a #manifesto aligned with our purpose: children’s health innovation needs private capital to drive systemic change across European society. We must learn to invest through the eyes of a child — not only to address current challenges affecting millions of children in Europe, but also to prevent many of the issues that impact us as adults today. We love closing the week with this news: LillianCare raises new funding to scale its hybrid primary care model across rural Germany! We’re proud to continue supporting LillianCare alongside amberra, Nina Capital, Calm/Storm, caesar., Venture League, and happy to welcome Creas and BONVENTURE as new investors! Founded in 2023, LillianCare is addressing one of Germany’s most pressing healthcare challenges, the shortage of general practitioners, by bringing modern, patient-centered care to rural areas. Its hybrid model combines interdisciplinary medical teams on-site with digital solutions such as telemedicine. With five practices already operating in Rhineland-Palatinate and Lower Saxony, the company plans to expand to 400 practices by 2030, closing critical gaps in access to healthcare. Patients gain faster access to medical care nearby, while doctors benefit from more flexible working models. “The fact that we were able to attract additional investors who share our vision is a strong signal for us,” said Linus Drop, Co-CEO and Co-Founder of LillianCare. “Trust, proximity, reliability, these shared values perfectly align with our mission to make primary care future-proof. We’re also very pleased that our existing investors continue to back us strongly.” We have made this investment through BSocial Impact Fund, supported by Banco Sabadell, European Investment Fund (EIF), and AXIS, among other investors.

Change starts with courageous conversations. That’s exactly what happened at Empowering Equity 2025! Our co-founder and managing partner Maite Fibla Gasparin, PhD joined the panel “Game Changers in Gender-Lens Investing”, where she shared Ship2B Ventures’ vision for transforming venture capital from the inside out. 💬 “If we truly want to build a better future, we must transform venture capital into a more impact-driven model, one that better balances risk, economic and impact returns. And we will only achieve that if more women join the sector, because women are the engine of a more humanistic and purpose-driven economy.” 👏 Moderated by Marjut Falkstedt, Chief Exectutive of European Investment Fund (EIF), the panel brought together leading voices who are reshaping the future of finance: 🔹 Emilia Mamajova (EVERITA Capital) shared how she partially “crowdfunded” her second fund by turning directly to the women in her network. 🔹 Nora Bavey (Unconventional Ventures) reminded us that diversity is a business strategy and challenged the sector not to narrow its scope to investing only in white women.
