Competir globalmente exige jugar en la liga más ambiciosa. Y eso fue precisamente lo que debatimos en el Scale-up Series de South Summit e IE New York College en Nueva York, junto a Seedtag y Capchase, dos scaleups españolas que están demostrando que el talento de nuestro ecosistema puede competir (y ganar) en el mayor mercado del mundo. En 2024, las startups españolas levantaron 1.900 millones de euros en venture capital, y el valor de nuestro ecosistema ya supera los 110.000 millones de euros, el doble que en 2020. Solo en el primer trimestre de 2025 ya hemos superado los 300 millones de euros en inversión. Pero la verdadera madurez no está solo en levantar capital, sino en saber escalar globalmente. 👉 Seedtag ha pasado en apenas tres años de no tener presencia en EE. UU. a que la mitad de su negocio esté allí, con más de cien empleados entre Nueva York, Miami, Chicago y Los Ángeles. Su apuesta por la publicidad contextual impulsada por IA, sin depender de cookies, les está llevando a liderar su categoría globalmente. 👉 Capchase, por su parte, ha convertido Estados Unidos en su mercado principal, ayudando a miles de startups a crecer de forma eficiente gracias a su modelo de financiación no dilutiva, un ejemplo de cómo la innovación financiera puede acelerar el crecimiento tecnológico. Ambos casos demuestran que no basta con crecer localmente. Hay que salir, construir, adaptarse y aprender en los mercados donde la competencia es máxima. Es ahí donde se define la diferencia entre una startup prometedora y una scaleup global. Still recovering from last week, where New York also became the stage for a new chapter: the very first Scale-up Series in North America in collaboration with IE University. At IE New York College, entrepreneurs, investors, and innovation leaders from the U.S., Europe, and LATAM came together with one shared ambition: to scale beyond borders. 🩷 International collaboration is not an option, it’s a must, and the conversations that followed reflected exactly that: Miguel Armaza, Jenny Fielding, and Dr. Christian Nagel opened a window into global investment opportunities. Kathryn Minshew and Crystelle Desnoyer shared what it really takes to power innovation ecosystems. Jack Mardack, Miguel Fernandez Larrea, and Albert Nieto Riera explored the art of scaling across borders, with Juan José Güemes bringing a cross-market perspective. Beyond the panels, the magic happened in the connections — founders and investors exchanging ideas over food and drinks, discovering synergies, and laying the foundation for what’s to come.
