Earlier this week QMill announced a world record in quantum circuit compression. Impact Quantum talks about the achievement in its news article: ▪️ “Something big just happened in the world of quantum computing, and it’s the big that’s actually about making things smaller. QMill, a Finnish quantum algorithm company, has announced a breakthrough in quantum circuit compression, a discovery that makes quantum computations leaner, faster, and closer to real-world use.” ▪️ “This isn’t just about efficiency; it’s about shifting what’s possible. Quantum computing’s next frontier isn’t some distant “quantum advantage” milestone where quantum systems outperform classical ones. It’s about making sure today’s hardware can run complex algorithms reliably. QMill’s focus on circuit compression moves that goal from theory into reach.” ▪️ “Quantum breakthroughs can sound abstract, but this one feels tangible. It reminds us that innovation often isn’t about adding layers of complexity. It’s about refining, simplifying, and finding clarity within the noise.” Read the article: https://lnkd.in/dfuCszUJ #QuantumComputing #AI #QuantumAlgorithms #QMill #CircuitCompression #NISQ #DeepTech

QMill sets a world record in quantum circuit compression! We are proud to share that QMill has developed a record-setting method for compressing quantum circuits, bringing useful quantum computations closer in time. ▪️ Today’s quantum hardware — NISQ systems — struggle with lengthy computations due to noise and decoherence, which cause errors to accumulate. Because of limited coherence time, qubits decohere before deep circuits can finish executing, making scalability and quantum advantage difficult to achieve. ▪️ To address this, quantum circuits must be compressed to use fewer elementary gates while preserving their functionality. QMill’s new AI-based method significantly reduces gate counts, helping to circumvent the major obstacles posed by today’s noisy hardware. For example, one of these circuits was compressed to just half the size of the previous best result. QMill had the opportunity to participate in the panel discussion “From Algorithm to Advantage” on the final day of the Quantum World Congress. The session was chaired by Outi Keski-Äijö from Business Finland and brought together voices from across the quantum ecosystem. Our CEO Hannu Kauppinen joined the conversation alongside panelists from IQM Quantum Computers, Quanscient, and Haiqu. The discussion focused on the practical path toward quantum advantage — and what it means for industry. As Hannu noted: ▪️ “Quantum advantage is reached when a useful problem – one that has business value for customers – is solved faster on a quantum computer than a classical one. We will arrive at quantum advantage piece by piece.” ▪️ “Quantum advantage is the most important goal for this industry, more so than incremental improvements alone.” ▪️ “Now is the time to start investing into algorithms, not wait for fault-tolerant quantum computing.” At QMill, we are developing quantum algorithms that deliver real-world value for industrial applications. Our focus is on solutions that match customer needs, with performance targets such as 10 000 gate operations at gate fidelities of 99.99% and broad availability of such quantum computing infrastructure. The Quantum World Congress offered a clear snapshot of the global quantum landscape. We met with numerous customers and stakeholders, and it was great to see the Finnish delegation making a strong impact. - Big thank you to Team Finland and the delegation leads for organizing! We also extend our thanks to fellow panel participants: - Outi Keski-Äijö, Business Finland (Chair) - Jouni Flyktman, IQM Quantum Computers - Valtteri Lahtinen, Quanscient - Richard Givhan, Haiqu #QWC2025 #QMill #QuantumAlgorithm #QuantumComputing #QuantumAdvantage #Innovation #DeepTech #QuantumWorldCongress

The Finnish Quantum Days 2025 are currently underway in Helsinki bringing together key stakeholders from Finland and abroad to discuss the future of quantum technologies. The first morning of the event included reflections on the newly launched Finnish Quantum Strategy. It was followed by a panel where the discussion focused on what is required to turn strategic vision into practical progress through better coordination of quantum policy across national and EU levels. QMill’s CEO Hannu Kauppinen joined the panel to share insights from the perspective of a Finnish quantum algorithm company. He emphasized three priorities for moving forward: ▪️ Investing in quantum algorithms: As quantum computers approach practical utility, algorithm development becomes critical for unlocking industrial applications. ▪️ Ensuring availability of high-quality quantum computing infrastructure: QMill is designing algorithms for machines making 1 error in 10,000 or 100,000 — such technology is expected to be available by 2027–2028. ▪️ Driving industrial adoption: It is time for large companies to actively begin exploring quantum computing use cases in partnership with companies like QMill. We need to identify and focus on applications that offer the greatest potential value for Finnish and European industries. Hannu also highlighted the importance of industry standards in enabling interoperability, global market access, and a thriving ecosystem where companies of all sizes can contribute. QMill is proud to contribute to shaping the future of quantum computing as part of the Finnish ecosystem and beyond. Sincere thanks to InstituteQ and other organisers for hosting the event. Warm thanks also to the panel moderator Janne Peltola from the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, and fellow panelists Juha Vartiainen from IQM, Laurent Olislager from European Commission and Kristine Helen Falgren from the Danish Quantum Community. #QuantumComputing #QuantumPolicy #FinnishQuantumDays #QMill #QuantumEcosystem #DeepTech #EUInnovation
