As part of our deep commitment as a business to giving back and uplifting our communities, our dedicated employees and Rotary volunteers across Suva to Lautoka, Nadi, Labasa, Savusavu, and beyond, are delivering more than hampers, they’re delivering hope, warmth, and festive joy. At Westpac, we advocate for causes that matter and our staff are supported through paid volunteer leave to show up where it matters most to communities. Disiola Boseiwaqa, Co-Chair of the Westpac Youth Network Fiji and native of Serua Island, used her paid volunteer leave to passionately support the Mangrove Rehabilitation Project, protecting her island home and sustaining her community’s livelihood. Disiola is very grateful to her Westpac team for eagerly jumping at the opportunity and always being keen to revisit and support the mangrove rehabilitation efforts, strengthening the collective commitment to the long-term resilience of her village and island’s coastal ecosystem. Collectively, Westpac staff contribute over 4,000 volunteer hours each year, showing up where it matters most to create real, lasting community impact. Meet Vodo Shaw, a proud Westpac team member for over 36 years who stepped into the role of Team Leader at the Levuka branch in September 2023. Since then, he has been nurturing growth and deepening our sense of belonging in the Lomaiviti community. With a close-knit team of four, Vodo serves businesses across Levuka town and villages in Ovalau, Moturiki, and the surrounding islands. He is committed to expanding banking access for all through initiatives like the Financial First Steps workshops at PAFCO, fostering inclusion for the largest employer in Ovalau and neighbouring villages. The branch buzzes with activity as Vodo and his team guide customers towards Internet and Mobile banking, welcoming more members into the Westpac family. The session was expertly led by Ann Patricia Naisara (Ms), Head of Human Resources Fiji, who shared valuable insights on career growth, resilience, and the importance of nurturing one’s unique path.
