I just tried to upgrade to 7.1.2. A notification poped up saying New version will be installed after application is closed (or something like that). However it deleted the app from my computer. Got it back using TimeMachine. Tried again, and the same thing happened.
Looks like the issue may be that I don’t have BSS installed in the Applications folder on the internal HD.
Sorry that you’ve run into issues! The auto update is a third party open source component and we have limited control over its behavior. Happy to hear that you’ve managed to resolve the problem. Will keep it in mind if others report similar issues on macOS.
It’s not uncommon for apps to have issues when they are not in the Application folder. Best to keep all your apps installed there on Mac OS IMO. Especially with Gatekeeper and Sandboxing.
