📍Central African Republic : Reaching shock-affected communities in Central African Republic In 2024, growing instability across the Central African Republic has triggered new humanitarian needs. Thousands of families have been displaced or cut off from basic services. With support from UNICEF, Acted's reach included: ✅ 4,587 households supported with life-saving Non-Food Items (NFIs) ✅ 34,000+ people reached with WASH services via 33 rehabilitated water points and 14 minor repairs ✅ 16,486 people reached through hygiene promotion and awareness activities This response is part of a coordinated effort with IMPACT Initiatives, ensuring effective coverage, addressing malnutrition, and avoiding service overlap across intervention areas.

On 20 May, Convergences, a sister organisation of Acted, was delighted to welcome several Brazilian media outlets – GloboNews Valor Econômico S/A, Casablack, Rede, arte!brasileiros, VEJA and MídiaNINJA – to its offices as part of the France-Brazil Convergences Forum, which will be held in Brasilia from 18 to 20 August 2025, on the theme of ‘Youth and Democracy’. This meeting highlighted: ✨ Three inspiring young people, among the 40 Brazilians and 40 French citizens selected for their civic engagement and expertise. They will participate in collaborative exchanges and workshops on major democratic issues. 🎯 Four key themes will structure the debates: Gender equality Combating disinformation Social and solidarity entrepreneurship Democracy and culture 🚀 The Forum's objectives: To strengthen Franco-Brazilian cooperation on concrete projects; To encourage youth civic participation; To promote intercultural dialogue as a driver of social innovation; To build bridges between committed actors to imagine sustainable solutions. 📍 Democratic Republic of Congo : Supporting Conflict-Affected Populations in the East In early 2025, the East of the DRC saw a sharp escalation in the conflict, and hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to flee active conflict zones, putting immense pressure on already overwhelmed support systems. ⚠️ The situation in South Kivu remains dire, with widespread insecurity, mass displacement, and natural disasters. As of January 31, 2025, there were 1.85 million internally displaced people and 184,000 returnees in the province. 👉Acted provided an emergency response to more than 5.200 vulnerable households through the SAFER Consortium funded by EU in Emergencies and Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (UK Aid): ✅️ 38,419 Food kits ✅️ 5,222 Essential supplies kits and hygiene kits ✅️ 4,522 Health and hygiene support kits for women

🌍🏠3ZERO House Kenya empowers Women Entrepreneurs in Climate Innovation ! Last weekend, 30 inspiring women pitched their climate innovations at the Inclusive Climate Entrepreneurship Pitching Day — the culmination of a programme led by 3ZERO House Kenya, with support from Climate KIC, IrishAid, and Impact Hub Nairobi. Programme Highlights: 📚 150+ changemakers joined the online climate entrepreneurship course (Jan–Feb) 👩🏽💼 30 women selected for mentorship & MVP development (Mar–May) 🎤 Pitching Day connected participants with investors & ecosystem enablers Launched in December 2024, 3ZERO House Kenya was created to address Kenya’s need for inclusive, climate-resilient innovation, focusing on bridging gaps in poverty, exclusion, and climate vulnerability. In line with its mission, 3ZERO House Kenya will continue supporting these women-led ventures, helping them scale their solutions and ensuring that vulnerable communities are part of the green transition. Mozambique: responding to the water crisis in Cabo Delgado💧   Cyclone Chido has made water access the most urgent need in northern #Mozambique, with 330,000 people declared in need (OCHA Flash Appeal, December 2024).   👉 Mecufi district is the most affected area, with over 90% of the population in need of WASH services. Therefore, Acted has implemented an immediate emergency response with:   ✅ Emergency Water Trucking operations ✅ Daily delivery of 15,000L of purified water ✅ Support to Internally Displaced People, health centres, and host communities   Through this response, over 48,000 people have already gained daily access to safe drinking water, helping safeguard the health and dignity of the most vulnerable.

Une étape importante de franchie pour Acted en Côte d’Ivoire ! ✍️ La signature de notre accord d’établissement avec le Gouvernement de Côte d'Ivoire est désormais officielle. Un jalon institutionnel qui marque la reconnaissance de notre action dans le pays, et ouvre de nouvelles perspectives pour consolider nos partenariats et amplifier notre impact auprès des communautés vulnérables. Que de chemin parcouru cette dernière année. 🌱 Depuis mars 2024, nous avons posé les bases d’un programme ambitieux autour de la résilience climatique, de la cohésion sociale et de l’écodéveloppement rural, en partenariat avec des acteurs publics autant que privés, des bailleurs internationaux, et surtout de nombreux acteurs locaux de tous horizons : experts, ONG nationales, coopératives, OSC... 🌍 Concrètement, que fait Acted aujourd’hui en Côte d’Ivoire ? Nous intervenons principalement dans le nord du pays, aux côtés des communautés rurales fragilisées par les effets du changement climatique, les tensions autour de l’accès aux ressources naturelles, et l’arrivée de populations déplacées. 🌳 Nous restaurons les écosystèmes dégradés à travers des actions de reboisement, d’agroforesterie et de gestion durable des terres ; 🌾 Nous renforçons les moyens de subsistance des ménages grâce à des écoles agro-pastorales et à l’introduction de pratiques agricoles résilientes et innovantes ( 👋 Living Soils) ; 🕊️ Nous soutenons la cohésion sociale et la prévention des conflits communautaires, en travaillant avec les leaders locaux, les autorités traditionnelles et les jeunes ; 🏛️ Nous développons des solutions d’écoconstruction avec l'Association la Voûte Nubienne, et plus largement, nous contribuons à la construction et à la réhabilitation d’actifs essentiels (centres communautaires, infrastructures rurales, bâtiments écologiques) pour renforcer la résilience des territoires. 📈 Dans un contexte où les relations Sud/Nord sont en pleines reconfigurations et que l'ensemble du système de la solidarité internationale doit être repensé, nous avons obtenu des résultats concrets, structuré une équipe solide passé de 6 à près de 30 salariés aujourd'hui, et fait reconnaître notre valeur ajoutée sur le terrain. Je quitterai mes fonctions de directeur pays à la fin du mois, avec beaucoup de gratitude pour cette aventure collective intense. Une nouvelle page va s’ouvrir très bientôt… à suivre !

📍 Supporting recovery programming in Myanmar: Following the recent earthquake that struck Myanmar, Acted is working in Mandalay Region where thousands of families have lost their homes. 👉 Present in the country since 2008, acted was among the first organisations to respond to the emergency. Thanks to already existing networks, Acted quickly launched needs assessments and emergency cash support. Now, Acted and its partners are implementing: ✅ Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance ✅Nutrition support for children under 5 & Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women ✅Cash-for-Work to rebuild community assets. 📍In Ukraine, in Chernihivska oblast, near the frontlines of the conflict, families continue to endure daily challenges as they try to maintain a sense of normal life.   With support from EU Humanitarian Aid, Acted and its partner, the Estonian Refugee Council, have provided Multipurpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) to over 37,000 individuals affected by the war in Ukraine in 2024 and 2025.   For Kateryna, a mother of two expecting her third child, and Olena, a retired pensioner caring for her sick husband, this aid has provided much-needed relief—helping them buy food, medicine, and clothes, and manage the emotional toll of life in a conflict zone.    👀Read more about their stories on our article available on our webpage : https://lnkd.in/gax5-x7d 💙Support Ukraine: https://lnkd.in/gW9CnFBF
