🌿 Why is a humanitarian NGO like Acted talking about green microfinance? 🌿 Because building a world with Zero Exclusion, Zero Carbon, Zero Poverty means investing in long-term, inclusive solutions for people and the planet. Acted is proud to share that its microfinance affiliate, Oxus Tajikistan, has just secured its first dedicated green loan financing: a €1 million senior loan from the Luxembourg Microfinance and Development Fund (LMDF), advised by ADA - Appui au Développement Autonome. 💡 This investment will help expand access to eco-friendly loans for underserved communities—fully aligned with the internationally recognized Green Loan Principles*. In practice, Oxus' green loans support: 🚜 Green Agriculture Loans: financing greenhouses, drip irrigation systems, and orchard development for farmers and agribusinesses. 🏡 Eco-Home Loans: supporting home insulation, solar water heaters, rainwater harvesting, and energy-efficient renovations. 🌿 Green Mobility Loans: enabling entrepreneurs, farmers, and workers to purchase electric vehicles, e-scooters, or hybrid machinery. 👉 Oxus structures its loan portfolio across 4 impact themes: 🌿 Green | 👩💼 Women’s Empowerment | 🌾 Rural Inclusion | ⚖️ Equal Opportunities By supporting Oxus, Acted helps bring the green transition within reach for low-income households and small entrepreneurs often left behind by traditional finance. 👉 Learn more about Oxus'impact: https://lnkd.in/g_993NMf *The Green Loan Principles are the global framework used to define eligible green finance activities, developed by the LMA, LSTA, and APLMA.

Advance Climate Resilience in Thi Qar Governorate, Iraq   The Thi Qar governorate in the south of Iraq is affected by one of the highest rates of climate-induced displacement in the country. Persistent droughts, irregular rainfalls, water scarcity, and salinisation have placed the largely agriculture-reliant communities at risk of food insecurity and disruptions to livelihoods.   👉In response, Acted, in partnership with IMPACT Initiatives, is working with at-risk farming communities and local stakeholders to strengthen climate resilience and disaster preparedness in the region.   👉Last week, sustainable agriculture kit were delivered to 70 farmers, along with tailored trainings on how to effectively implement climate-smart practices with the kits.   By focusing on developing the capacities of both agricultural engineers and farmers, Acted aims to establish a robust, knowledgeable, and self-sustaining agricultural community in the targeted area.
