“Beauty will save the world” (Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky)

À propos

The Brunello Cucinelli story started in 1978 in Solomeo, a small historical hamlet in Italy that has always been the beating heart of the company. We strive to follow the rhythms of the land we live in and to cherish its rich traditions, drawing inspiration from the natural and artistic beauties that surround us. The desire to put human beings at the center of everything guides every action and inspires an adventure that has lasted for over forty years now: today, we are a large community that knows no boundaries and the encounter with many different countries has given us the opportunity to make our dreams even bigger. Since the very beginning, our goal has been to make high-quality creations to last and to be passed down to future generations. We were born from an intuition: to dye cashmere knitwear. We have developed, at the right pace, a personal vision of total looks, which is reflected in our ready-to-wear collections for Women, Men and Kids, as well as in our Lifestyle accessories line, all of which are proudly Made in Italy. We try to infuse every collection with the values, beauty and ideals that we breathe here in Solomeo and that we wish to spread around the world. The most authentic meaning of our identity and our continuous aesthetic research are built on manual skills and craftsmanship: lovingly cherished ancient knowledge and symbols of vital human creativity. We are committed to passing on the legacy of our land to younger generations, and we work every day to build and support trust-based relationships with all our collaborators, aiming to promote the individual talent that is indispensable for balanced, respectful and lasting growth. Protecting Beauty in all its forms, respecting human dignity and preserving the Universe are the ethical principles that guide us, helping us look to the future with faith and accept the challenges of today with enthusiasm, wishing to create something beautiful that stands the test of time.

The Art of Us shares the stories of artists and visionaries, exploring the transformative power of art and its impact on our lives. The second episode features Rebecca Louise Law, the English artist renowned for her immersive installations created with organic materials, particularly preserved flowers. Through her art, Rebecca finds beauty in fragility, in transformation, and in rebirth. In her works, flowers do not end with their natural life cycle, but instead capture time itself, becoming a tangible memory of what nature creates in an endless continuum. On September 8th, in New York, Carolina Cucinelli delivered a significant address at the 2025 Forum of the 50 Women in Power of Fashion and Retail, organised by the esteemed Women’s Wear Daily (WWD), one of the most authoritative voices in the world of fashion.    The important honour bestowed by WWD, under the editorial direction of James Fallon, is rooted in Carolina Cucinelli’s capacity to renew the excellence of luxury craftsmanship — not only by safeguarding the tradition of Italian taste, universally admired, but also through her leadership and her remarkable ability to inspire the younger generations with her creative and human vision.   Carolina Cucinelli commented: ‘I am truly delighted and proud of this important recognition from WWD, and I warmly thank the entire Fairchild Media Group. I am pleased to share this honour with my sister Camilla, as we have often reflected on how inspiring it is to carry forward that style and lifestyle which our brand embodies, always seeking to innovate while remaining faithful to the roots of our aesthetic. We are both deeply bound to Italian taste, and I believe our collections over the years have spoken not only of our work but also of the values we hold dear — values first embraced by Brunello when he founded the company. It is profoundly moving for us to think that, from our hamlet of Solomeo, we have come to New York today to speak about the role of women in creativity and innovation in fashion. This honour is also a tribute to the daily work of all those who stand beside us within the company, especially the women: I think of the artisans who, since our childhood, instilled in us the love for this craft — some of whom are still with us — as well as the younger generations, who offer us their passion and dedication each day. Sharing this gift with them makes it all the more special’. Brunello Cucinelli expressed himself with these words: ‘It fills me with joy that our esteemed friends at Women’s Wear Daily have chosen to include my daughter Carolina among the "50 Women in Power 2025" of Fashion and Retail, inviting her to the New York Forum to speak about how her creative and human vision is inspiring the new generations. My wife Federica and I are truly proud of this recognition, above all when I think of how Carolina and Camilla, so deeply committed to innovation and research, are also able to gently nourish the human relations that make our Solomeo factory beautiful. I also wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dear friends at WWD for having included me among the 115 Changemakers of the fashion world, an expression of esteem that honours me profoundly. In the international panorama of Fashion, all this represents yet another most welcome confirmation that the "gentle luxury" we endeavour to nurture in Solomeo, with my family and all our co-workers, receives a gracious appreciation from those who, like my most esteemed James Fallon, are true connoisseurs of Beauty’.

Yesterday in Penne, in the Abruzzo region, the new “beautiful factory” for the production of men’s suits was inaugurated. The ceremony was attended by Abruzzo Region President Marco Marsilio, Mayor Gilberto Petrucci and the Municipal Administration, Confindustria Abruzzo Medio Adriatico President Lorenzo Dattoli, Archbishop Mons. Tommaso Valentinetti and Minister Antonio Tajani. ‘We believe we have created a workplace that is welcoming, bright, and comfortable; a place where one can lift the gaze to the sky and restore the spirit by contemplating the harmony of the landscape, framed by Gran Sasso. We are delighted to welcome our esteemed worker-artisans into this manufactory, a symbol uniting past and future, tradition and innovation’, Brunello Cucinelli commented.

The granary of the spirit "I am in love with books. I love them for the knowledge they bestow, for the fragrance they release, for the rustle of their pages turned, which seems to caress the soul. Like Voltaire, I have a fondness for ancient volumes, and I cherish the words of their authors, whose wisdom is confirmed by the long endurance of their thought. Montesquieu once observed that until we have read all the old books, there is no reason to prefer the new; and sincerely, if I could always decide upon my own time, nothing would delight me more than to walk through the beautiful park of Solomeo in the evening, at sunset, when the air is finer and the spirit more inclined to wonder, strolling through what, to me, is a kind of paradise whilst reading passages from a beloved book. I cannot truly say which, among the many, is my most loved; yet it matters little, for any good book, as Montaigne believed, is the best provision for the human journey. And so, it is enough for me to hold a book—one that speaks directly to the heart, with simple words—where it is clear at once that the passage from the mind to the pen of the author was authentic". On June 12th in Milan, at Casa Cucinelli, and June 13th in Solomeo, at the Cucinelli Theatre, two press conferences were held to unveil an important initiative entitled the “Week of Guardianship”, which will take place in the week of 15–21 September 2025 in the Umbrian capital of Perugia.  Conceived by Brunello Cucinelli and his family, the initiative has been warmly embraced by the Municipality of Perugia - which acts as the main organiser of the initiative, the Umbria Region, the Università degli Studi di Perugia, the University for Foreigners of Perugia and the Academy of Fine Arts of Perugia.   Dedicated to the architectural and natural wonders of the entire municipal territory of the Umbrian capital, the project aims to raise public awareness around fostering a civic culture of preservation, guardianship, and beautification.    The initiative was presented by Brunello Cucinelli, alongside the Mayor of Perugia, Vittoria Ferdinandi, in the presence of the President of the Umbria Region, Stefania Proietti; the Rector of the University of Perugia, Maurizio Oliviero; the Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Valerio De Cesaris; and the Director of the Academy of Fine Arts of Perugia, Tiziana D’Acchille. Brunello Cucinelli commented: ‘I like to think that this initiative will find joyful participation from all Perugians and beyond, urging them to recognise the importance of each person caring for a small part of our splendid city of Perugia, a heritage of humanity. We are all temporary guardians of Beauty, and that represented by Perugia’s monumental stones, parks, gardens, and orchards awaits daily, gracious, and gentle acts of care from all — whether residents or students, or those visitors who come to experience it as tourists. The ancient Athenians taught us: “If the doorway to your home is clean, the whole city is clean”, “It is our duty to leave the city more beautiful than we inherited it”. I believe that everything can begin with caring for one’s own doorway. A cleaned and polished door will be more beautiful; a well-tended garden will be more beautiful; and soon after, a pavement, a bench, a wall, a plaque, a flowerpot, a path, a fountain, a small park, a public square — all will regain their shine. Thus a virtuous circle will be sparked whereby all will feel responsible for the city’s beauty and respectful of its territory. You will see, I am certain, that when we restore dignity to certain corners of the city, our very souls will benefit and feel lighter. In Siena, in the town hall, the fresco “The Allegory of Good Government”, masterfully painted by Benozzo Gozzoli for our instruction and pleasure, depicts the Sienese Constitution of 1309, the supreme expression of the norms regulating civic, political and judicial life, where it is written: “Those who govern must hold the beauty of the city foremost in their hearts for the delight and joy of visitors, for the honour, prosperity, and growth of the city and its citizens”’.

Third Universal Symposium on Soul and Economics Solomeo, May 15–18, 2025 Final reflections on the great theme of human artificial intelligence and philanthropy of the soul ‘During these three wonderful days spent together in Solomeo, against the enchanting backdrop of the Umbrian countryside and immersed in its Genius loci (the Spirit of the Place), we discussed the major contemporary issues, inspired by the reflections that human artificial intelligence is fostering within us all. We discussed humanity, spirituality, religion, and knowledge, exchanging our perspectives and visions. We looked toward the horizons to which innovation is leading us and attempted to imagine its resonance across communities, societies, and individuals. We spoke about democracy, participation, confrontation and synthesis, as well as how to establish common ground to foster plurality. We also envisaged the arts of the future, which will emerge from the extension of human eyes and hands made possible by technology, merging humans and AI in a sort of shared creative process. We talked at length about science and medicine, new research, renewed hopes, health and wellbeing. Then we moved on to creativity and the value of written words. We also discussed the great and timeless values of generosity and empathy, whose ancient legacy will continue to inspire our vision for guiding the future of humanity. We emphasised the importance of the ability to learn and to relate to those around us in order to continue nurturing our societies through everyone's contributions. Finally, we became emotional when discussing the possibility of creating a collaboration between humans and technology that would always treat the latter as our handmaiden, enabling humanity to continue exploring, understanding, dreaming and building. It was precisely with regard to this last point, to this immaterial scenario where reason and the irrational meet, that we were able to appreciate the depth of the dialogues at the 2025 Symposium. We became even more convinced of the benefits that humanity can derive from human technology by using it in the Greek way, within measure and according to utility. The world is thirsty for novelty, and technology is a novelty that not only brings improvement but, we believe, represents a true revolution—like others in the past—which began as technological revolutions, where the capacity to create exceeded the ability to foresee the consequences, and later evolved into humanistic revolutions. This has given rise to what we like to think of as the “Philanthropy of the Soul”. From this idea, we embraced and shared the proposal to call ourselves “The Torchbearers of Solomeo”!’ Discover more: https://lnkd.in/d7XqegdF

Letter to the youth for a humanistic revolution   “O my beloved youth,  each day I think of you as the very heart of the world. When I was a child, my gaze was fixed upon my parents, and from their actions, particularly in those early years, I learned the rules of life — those rules that instinct, in its natural course, could not bestow upon me. I look to you, young ones, and I see you both in times past and within the Tempus Novum. We must nourish ourselves with hope, but hope alone may not suffice. We must, therefore, put action into practice — an enlightened kind of humanistic revolution, guided by memory and fixed upon the morrow. For the future is a promise and a gift that awaits us — that awaits you, women or men of tomorrow — and we must desire it; this is the purpose of values, which confer meaning upon life”. We are delighted to introduce “The Art of Us,” a platform dedicated to celebrating the boundless power of the human spirit, as expressed through creativity. By diving into the stories and visions of remarkable artists, we aim to unveil the profound connection between art and the world that shapes and inspires it. In our first episode, we travel into the universe of Will Beckers, an environmental artist whose immersive works encourage a renewed bond with nature and a deeper understanding of ourselves. Through his distinctive approach, Will reminds us that every artistic journey is also an exploration of our shared humanity, where creativity becomes a catalyst for transformation and inspiration. Yesterday morning, in the Great Hall of the Rectorate at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli” in Caserta, Brunello Cucinelli was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in “Design for Made in Italy: Identity, Innovation, and Sustainability” by the Department of Architecture, in recognition of his “entrepreneurial skills and undeniable human and spiritual value”, as stated by the Magnificent Rector, Professor Nicoletti Gianfranco. The event was attended by the Minister of Universities and Research of the Italian Republic, Hon. Anna Maria Bernini; Professor Ornella Zerlenga, Director of the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design; Professor Architect Alessandra Cirafici, coordinator of the aforementioned National Doctorate; the entire Academic Senate; Rectors of other Universities who generously chose to be present; as well as numerous students, journalists, and friends from around the world. Brunello Cucinelli, a lifelong admirer of art, architecture, and aesthetics, delivered his Lectio doctoralis entitled “Genius Loci, Master of the Arts”, exploring themes of beauty and the safeguarding of the “Spirit of the Place”, as well as Humanistic Capitalism and Human Sustainability, speaking about the sporuting of a humanistic revolution that, with the contribution of younger generations, may lead to the realisation of a Tempus Novum. ‘I feel profoundly honoured to have been granted the Honorary Doctorate in Architecture by the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, which I like to see as a tribute to my family, in particular to my grandchildren, who bring joy to my soul every day. The ancient Greeks understood that both mind and soul are essential to human existence, revering Apollo and Dionysus. It is the duty of the young, in particular, to follow the Greek wisdom encapsulated in the inscriptions on the Temple of Delphi, in order to support the sprouting of a new humanistic revolution at the dawn of a Tempus Novum: “Know thyself” and “Nothing in excess”. This way they may experience in a humanistic manner the sentiment that leads to emotion, imagination and creativity. Vitruvius maintained that architecture must be solid, useful and beautiful. I was inspired by this paradigm, feeling like a bit of an “architect of enterprise”. Heartfelt thanks to this University, the esteemed Magnificent Rector Nicoletti and its Academic Senate for a gift so special that I shall cherish with joy and gratitude’, Brunello Cucinelli commented. https://lnkd.in/dxie-GpC
