🎬✨ Throwback: Young Horizons Industry Think Tank 2025 ✨🎬 At this year’s Young Horizons Industry Think Tank in Warsaw, KIDS Regio joined an inspiring group of representatives from national and regional film funds across Europe to discuss one key question: 👉 How can we ensure a stronger future for children’s cinema in Europe? Ideas were shared and challenges identified. Themes went from improving cross-border collaboration to increasing the visibility and relevance of children’s content for young audiences.   As part of the session, KIDS Regio presented the new CineRegio Young Audience Report, sharing best practices from across Europe and highlighting how regional film funds are championing children’s cinema through funding, education, and policy initiatives. 📖🌍 At the same time, Young Horizons released their own report, which is now available online and offers further valuable insights into the Think Tank discussions 💫   💡 The discussions highlighted several recurring needs: – Better coordination between European funds and stakeholders 🤝 – A stronger focus on distribution and audience awareness 🎟️ – The importance of listening to young people and including them in creative processes 🧒 – And above all, the need to change the mindset towards children’s films — from niche to necessary. 🎞️   The most promising opportunities identified: 1️⃣ Use existing European structures to strengthen the position of children’s film 2️⃣ Build working groups that unite all parts of the value chain 3️⃣ Include young audiences directly in the conversation 4️⃣ Read and share the Cine Regio Young Audience Report initiated by KIDS Regio to discover inspiring best practices and ideas from across Europe 💚   We’re grateful to have been part of this forward-thinking exchange and to see so much shared commitment to giving children's cinema the visibility and value it deserves across Europe. 🎥✨ Check out the Report of the Think Tank via this Link: https://lnkd.in/dy9fTwHt Photos by Piotr Kruszak   #KIDSRegio #YoungHorizons #YoungHorizonsIndustry #YoungAudienceReport #ChildrensCinema #EuropeanFilm #YoungAudiences #FilmPolicy #AudienceDevelopment #BetterTogether

EPC welcomes and fully supports the strong statement issued by EFAD - European Film Agency Directors association (a.i.s.b.l) on the Council of Europe draft Convention on the co-production of audiovisual works in the form of series. Dariusz Jablonski EPC President commented: " The PACE opinion’s proposal to amend the Convention on Co-Production of Series unfortunately strikes at the very core ideals of the Council of Europe. If implemented, it would transform a political instrument into a market mechanism benefiting large entities, depriving independent producers — the guarantors of cultural diversity and freedom of artistic expression — of any support. Public funds represented by EFAD have clearly identified and explained this. On behalf of independent producers represented within the EPC, we fully support EFAD’s position!"   “We fully endorse EFAD’s call to preserve the Convention’s original safeguards. A strong framework is needed to protect independent producers’ rights, ensure fair value sharing, and foster a truly diverse European audiovisual landscape. Weakening these core provisions would tilt the balance toward dominant players and undermine creative plurality across Europe.”

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗺 - 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗴 🇪🇺🎬 Yesterday in Strasbourg, the European Producers Club (EPC) and CEPI - European Audiovisual Production Association co-hosted a breakfast discussion in the European Parliament entitled “The Power of European Independent Film.” Bringing together Members of the European Parliament, policymakers, and independent producers, the event highlighted the central role of 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲’𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘁𝘆, 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀. Among the speakers were European Parliament Vice-President Sabine Verheyen (EPP, DE), MEP Emma Rafowicz (S&D, FR), and other prominent MEPs from across Europe, alongside independent producers including Sanfaute Nicolas and Raphaëlle Delauche (Love Me Tender). “Independent producers are passionate creative leaders. They are drivers of cultural diversity, growth & jobs and promoters of our shared values,” said James Hickey, EPC General Counsel. “Europe needs to safeguard independence if we want to preserve creative freedom, cultural diversity and sovereignty,” added Emmanuelle Mauger, CEPI Board Member. The discussion focused on three key policy priorities:  • Preserving the identity of the 𝗠𝗘𝗗𝗜𝗔 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗲 within AgoraEU, reinforcing its budget and mentioning “independent producers”  • Defending the 𝗔𝗩𝗠𝗦 𝗗𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 and Europe’s cultural exception  • Ensuring fair 𝗔𝗜 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 that protects creators 🔗 Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/d38MRK4v
