RIMOWA announced the year’s winning projects for the third edition of the RIMOWA Design Prize. Rooted in the German Maison’s principles of innovation, inclusivity, and global change, the RIMOWA Design Prize was established to honour Germany’s rich design heritage and to empower the next generation of emerging talent. Now in its third iteration, the RIMOWA Design Prize continues to explore the theme of mobility, encouraging participating students to consider the holistic impact of mobility, while upholding RIMOWA’s values of resilience, transformation, and timeless design. Elisabeth Lorenz and Marc Hackländer have been awarded the final Prize for their project named 'Hottie', and Niels Cremer and Tom Kemter received the Special Mention for ‘Standalone’ during the ceremony held in Berlin at the prestigious Gropius Bau. The 9th edition of the Loro Piana Knit Design Award took place on May 13–14 at the historic Casa degli Artisti, bringing together international students from the most prestigious fashion design schools to reinterpret the Maison’s iconic yarns through innovation and savoir-faire. The 2025 edition, themed “Winter Legacy – Translating Linen into Heritage Knitwear”, challenged students to transform linen — a fiber traditionally associated with summer — into a timeless, seasonless piece by blending it with Loro Piana’s signature winter yarns. This year’s winners, Morgan Boyce and Simone Rizzato from Accademia Costume & Moda, Italy, were awarded for their project "‘Paracadute". Their work stood out for its refined execution, combining technical precision and creative vision to push the boundaries of knitwear while paying tribute to Loro Piana’s heritage.
