‘Marilyn Reversal’, 1979, from Andy Warhol’s Reversals series, reimagines one of his most iconic subjects with striking intensity. In this haunting reinterpretation, Marilyn Monroe’s familiar features are cast in negative and layered with bold swirls of turquoise, hot pink, and cadmium red beneath a deep black screen. Conceived in 1979 at the suggestion of Warhol’s dealer Bruno Bischofberger, the Reversals series marked a radical return to the images that defined his legacy. 📸 ©️ William John Kennedy Artwork: Andy Warhol, Marilyn Reversal, 1979, acrylic on silkscreen ink on canvas, 45.5 x 38 cm I 17.9 x 15 in, on view in our Paris gallery. ✅ Discover our selection of available works by Andy Warhol by clicking on the link below: https://lnkd.in/e64szKcC

As we close the ‘Social Landscapes’ exhibition in our Miami gallery, Xevi Solá shares insight into his process from his studio. Painting instinctively, he captures fleeting emotions rather than likeness, creating quiet, minimal compositions where colour and gesture suggest something just beyond reach. ✅ Learn more via the link below: https://lnkd.in/dkDBVqwk

#Didyouknow that Karel Appel once said, ‘I just paint like a barbarian — in a barbaric age’ ? The artist’s spontaneous, instinct-driven approach helped redefine postwar European painting. Rejecting academic tradition, he embraced raw emotion, bold color, and unfiltered gesture — prioritizing freedom and feeling over control and technique. His work, often described as primal or childlike, challenged viewers to reconnect with the untamed, intuitive side of human expression. 📸 copyright Karel Appel. ✅ Discover our selection of available works by Karel Appel by clicking on the link below: https://lnkd.in/e7Am2yYm
