Le Pasteur Network est une alliance de plus de 30 instituts qui joue un rôle essentiel dans la réponse aux défis de santé mondiaux par la science, l’innovation et la santé publique. Le réseau se distingue par sa diversité et sa large couverture géographique, qui s'étend sur 25 pays sur les 5 continents, favorisant une communauté dynamique de connaissances et d'expertises. Le Pasteur Network est reconnu comme un acteur non-étatique de l'OMS et ses membres sont souvent dépendants des ministères de la santé locaux. Il dispose d'une infrastructure mondiale comprenant plus de 50 laboratoires de référence nationaux et régionaux, dont de nombreux laboratoires de niveau 3 de biosécurité, et 17 Centres Collaborateurs de l'OMS. Les activités du Pasteur Network sont guidées par quatre piliers stratégiques : 1) la veille et préparation aux épidémies, avec un accent sur les maladies sensibles au Climat, 2) la recerche, le développement et l'innovation, 3) les communautés de connaissances, et 4) la gouvernance et l'équité.

    🌟 Day 3 of #PNAM2025 — Science, Mentorship & Global Collaboration in Focus Day 3 of the Pasteur Network Annual Meeting 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City highlighted the strength of our global community through science-driven dialogue, mentorship, and strategic collaboration. 🔬 The day featured four “40 Under 40” Plenary Sessions, showcasing the creativity and impact of emerging researchers from across the Network:  1️⃣ Respiratory Viruses: Detection, Surveillance & Immunity — exploring immune responses, genomic surveillance, and strategies to strengthen epidemic preparedness.  2️⃣ Enteroviruses & Emerging Viruses — investigating zoonotic spillover, virus discovery, and interspecies transmission risks in diverse ecosystems.  3️⃣ Bacteria & Microbiota — examining microbial ecology, antimicrobial resistance, and host–microbiome interactions with implications for One Health.  4️⃣ Parasites — presenting molecular and genomic insights into neglected tropical diseases, drug discovery, and parasite–host dynamics. 💬 The Roundtable “When I Was in Your Shoes” fostered intergenerational dialogue on scientific careers, leadership, and resilience — promoting mentorship and shared experience across the Network. 💉 The Vaccine Manufacturing in the Network session brought together experts from multiple regions to discuss innovation, capacity-building, and equitable access to vaccines — reinforcing the Network’s commitment to global vaccine equity.

    𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗔𝗗 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱 - 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲 On October 14, at the 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲 (𝗖𝗔𝗗) was officially launched, a global coalition of over 50 organizations working together to transform how we respond to dengue fever. Convened by the CAD's secretariat, the 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝘂𝗿 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, brought together representatives from 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗰𝗼, 𝗪𝗛𝗢, 𝗣𝗔𝗛𝗢, 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗖𝗗𝗖, 𝗙𝗶𝗼𝗰𝗿𝘂𝘇, 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗲, and many more. 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲. 𝗜𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻. We discussed 𝗲𝘅𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺: Smarter surveillance and predictive modelling, better data to inform investment and policy, stronger community engagement, clearer legislation and political will, integrated urban health planning, climate-aware response strategies, and deep cross-sector partnerships, including WHO and other multilateral stakeholders. 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: Dengue is a growing global threat, and fragmented responses won’t cut it. 𝗖𝗔𝗗 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗻𝘁, one that aligns dengue strategies with climate and urban health agendas, and drives sustainable, locally tailored solutions. (Vice-President for International Affairs) and Professor David Fidock (Scientific Advisor to the President), Professor Yasmine Belkaid, President of the Institut Pasteur (Paris), visited Cambodia from 20 October to learn more about the activities of the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) and to meet our scientists. During this brief visit, Professor Belkaid met with key partners: H.E. Youk Sambath (Secretary State of Ministry of Health), H.E. Olivier Richard (Ambassador of France), and Professor Vonthanak Saphonn (Rector of University of Health Sciences). She also held discussions with IPC researchers, who presented their ongoing work, and made a short tour of the institute. This visit provided an opportunity to deepen mutual understanding and to explore ways to strengthen collaborations between IPC and the Institut Pasteur, as exemplified by existing research projects such as RACSMEI, ECOMORE, and SEA-ROADS.

    PNAM 2025 – The Institut Pasteur de Dakar will participate in the Pasteur Network Annual Meeting The Pasteur Network Annual Meeting (PNAM 2025), co-organized with the Pasteur Institute of in Ho Chi Minh City, will take place from October 21 to 24, 2025, in this vibrant Vietnamese city. This flagship event will bring together leaders, researchers, and public health experts from across the Pasteur Network and partner institutions worldwide. It will serve as a platform for dialogue on the major challenges of global health, scientific cooperation, and epidemic preparedness. As an active member of this network, which includes more than 30 organizations and partners, the Institut Pasteur de Dakar (IPD) stands alongside its peers to advance scientific research, public health, and biomedical innovation across Africa and internationally. The programme features a series of presentations, workshops, and thematic discussions focused on key topics such as epidemic preparedness, climate-sensitive diseases, and equitable health research.     I had the privilege to co-organize the kickoff day of the “Climate & Health Observatory Accelerator Project”, supported by the Pasteur Network and co-funded by The Rockefeller Foundation and the Institute of Philanthropy. This "Climate & Health" day brought together researchers, policymakers, civil society representatives, and international partners to: -Present the Climate & Health Project and its main initiatives. -Review the current situation of climate change impacts on health in Tunisia. -Promote collaboration and dialogue between researchers, institutions, and decision-makers. -Highlight the importance of an interdisciplinary approach in Climate & Health research. -Raise awareness among the public and media about the urgency and stakes of climate and health issues.
