Spotlight on a historic French aperitif icon, Suze. Made from the gentian root which grows for over 20 years in the mountains of France before being harvested by hand, Suze is known for its bright yellow colour and distinctive bittersweet taste. The brand has evolved through decades of design culture and creativity. In 1885 Fernand Moureaux and Henri Porte decided to create a wine free aperitif – a bold move at the time! Their innovation paid off, winning them a gold medal at the Paris Universal Exhibition and Suze was born. Henri Porte also designed the iconic amber Suze bottle, inspired by an old one he found in his attic. Its unique shape has remained unchanged ever since as a lasting symbol of Suze's originality in the world of aperitifs.
