Easy is boring. That simple idea sums up how Lars Graulund – Senior Director, Engineering Support – approaches his work and why he has thrived at Stibo Systems for three decades. Lars left a comfortable role in the public sector when he got an offer he could not refuse: the promise of real challenges and a culture where change and innovation are the norm. That choice still shapes his day to day. He believes work should be fun and demanding in equal measure because that is when people grow. His proudest milestones are the STEP Workbench, a project that was initiated 25 years ago and still makes an impact today, and the close relationship and collaboration he has with his current team, built on mutual trust and respect. This video is a short glimpse into a longer conversation we had with Lars to look back on his 30-year journey at Stibo Systems, a journey defined by curiosity, creativity, and rewarding challenges. We thought it would be nice to share. Besides being an excellent engineer, Lars is also a luthier who enjoys building and restoring guitars, and a singer-songwriter. The song that you hear in the background is titled Flasken and was written by Lars in memory of his father and performed with his former band, Fru Hansens Bolsjeri, of which he was the lead singer. At the end you can also admire his innovative guitar. In Lars's words "the design idea was to create a guitar that looks and feels like a normal acoustic western guitar, but sounds like a banjo".
