  • Certifications take center stage at #IntotheForest Conference hosted by our member Jerónimo Martins CGF’s Director of Sustainability, Didier Bergeret, joined leaders across sectors at the 12th Sustainability Conference in Lisbon. He highlighted that auditing, monitoring, and certification programmes can better support businesses to: - Reinforce sustainability fundamentals;  - Engage smallholder farmers; - Build more resilient food systems. Bergeret underscored the need for collaboration and pragmatism, calling on stakeholders to harmonise efforts, involve governments, and recognise that sustainable practices drive growth in the long-term. His final call to action to the industry was to, “𝘩𝘢𝘳𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘦, 𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘯, 𝘤𝘰-𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘥𝘶𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦.” Learn more about our work at the SSCI: https://lnkd.in/eKhHvbF8

  • When every sustainability standard looks different, businesses spend more time proving responsibility than improving performance. The fresh produce and floral sector — worth more than USD 850 billion globally — connects farmers, suppliers, and retailers across continents. At the Global Produce & Floral Show, our Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative (SSCI) and International Fresh Produce Association brought together over 20 thousand members and stakeholders to align sustainability benchmarking for this vital industry. The goal is to bring greater transparency, consistency, and trust to sustainability standards across the industry. As Didier Bergeret, the CGF’s Director of Sustainability, said:  “When we talk about benchmarking, we’re really talking about trust — ensuring that every actor in the supply chain is working from the same foundation of integrity and accountability.” Explore how SSCI and IFPA are working together to turn sustainability commitments into practical progress: https://lnkd.in/d8qYQKWZ

Charting The Way Forward For FMCG with Data-Driven Insights That's a wrap for IOO·HORIZON in Barcelona this week! To tackle the critical questions shaping the future of the FMCG industry, discussions at the meeting centered on the intersection of sustainability, data, and technology:  - How can we best leverage QR codes based on GS1 Standards and emerging tech to achieve end-to-end supply chain efficiency and product traceability? - What is the fastest path to simplifying sustainability data exchange and creating the common data framework our industry needs? - How do we strategically implement AI and automation to drive operational excellence across our value chains? - What is retail media and its potential impact on retail businesses? Hosted by The Consumer Goods Forum's Data-Driven Value Chain (DDVC) Industry Solution, the conference featured immersive, hands-on learning at the GS1 Spain headquarters, AECOC, Microsoft Offices, and Fedefarma, a fully automated pharmaceutical warehouse. Energised by these discussions, the Data-Driven Value Chain members and partners are moving forward together to build a more agile, transparent, and data-driven industry. Thank you to all participants for an insightful week. Stay tuned for a video highlight, and we look forward to seeing you at our next event in New York!
