Together with Nathalie PIVET, we presented EDF Group’s half-year results. These first 6 months was marked by operational and financial results in line with expectations, in a context of declining market prices. These results reflect the strong commitment of our contribute to the Group’s key priorities:
▶️ Our top priorities: safety, health, and security. In terms of safety, the number of level 1 significant events per reactor stands at 1.04, compared to 1.09 last year. On the security front, further progress is still needed to achieve our ambition: zero accidents.
▶️ Quality and lead time are key drivers of significant gains, both in time and cost. Initiatives of this kind are being deployed across the Group and will continue. A notable example: improved performance during reactors outages led to an additional 6.6 TWh of production compared to H1 2024.
▶️ Electricity as a lever for reindustrialization. We are working to ensure a reliable, decarbonized, and competitive electricity supply for our customers, especially industrial ones. Since the end of 2023, over 12,000 medium-term contracts have been signed, 60% of them with industrial clients. At the same time, we are accelerating the decarbonization of uses: in Lille, Dalkia secured the renewal and extension of the heating network for 20 years — the 3rd largest in France.
▶️ Stable, decarbonized production. EDF produced 257 TWh in these first 6 months, 95% of which was decarbonized — with one of the lowest carbon intensities in the world. Low-carbon project development continues, with major progress in new nuclear projects in France and the UK, as well as in renewables.
▶️ We continue to support the stability of the electrical system and the development of new electric uses. Enedis recorded an increase in renewable energy connections. Conversely, EV charging point connections declined, reflecting a slowdown in the automotive market. Our teams also showed exemplary commitment during the storms in Réunion Island and Ireland. I commend their dedication.
▶️ The evolution of the electrical system, with more intermittent sources, is pushing us to strengthen flexibility: production modulation (offshore wind and nuclear), storage development, and new offers for our customers.
Looking ahead, our priorities are :
To provide decarbonized, reliable, and competitive energy for all our customers and to support France’s energy and industrial sovereignty;
To demonstrate our ability to deliver major projects while meeting the highest standards of safety, security, health, timelines, and cost control;
To modernize and strengthen our hydropower fleet;
To continue mobilizing efforts to generate cash flow.
To achieve this, I rely on the commitment of all EDF teams, and I thank them.
Proud to be EDF.
