🖤 1 million context window for Sonnet 4 is live!!! 🖤 "Starting today, Claude Sonnet 4 supports 1 million tokens of context on the Anthropic API—5x more than before. This enables developers to process over 75,000 lines of code or dozens of research papers in a single request, ideal for data-intensive uses like long-running agents. Long context support for Sonnet 4 is now in public beta, starting with API users on Tier 4 and custom rate limits. Broader availability on our API will be rolling out over the coming weeks. It’s also available in Amazon Bedrock, and is coming soon to Google Cloud's Vertex AI. Today, we're excited to announce Autofix Bot — an AI agent purpose-built for code security. On the OWASP Benchmark, it performs on par with OpenAI Codex, outperforms Claude Code, while being at least 60% cheaper. Modern software is increasingly written with the aid of AI, and we're seeing two emerging patterns in professional software development: 1. Organizations are producing much more code per developer 2. As a direct consequence, most codebases now don't exist as a mental model in anyone's head on the team "How do we ensure we're shipping secure code to our users?" is top of mind for engineering and security leaders across the industry. Studies have shown a 10× rise in new security vulnerabilities in AI-generated changes. Asking an LLM to review its own code for security vulnerabilities has not proved helpful either, as LLM-only review exhibited very low recall on critical vulnerability classes across multiple labeled datasets — often zero true positives. Autofix Bot is purpose-built for securing code using a hybrid architecture. We're excited to present the results of our benchmark runs against code review/security review modes of OpenAI Code, Claude Code, and Gemini CLI. What's next? - Autofix Bot is currently in early access, and we're rolling out access to select partners. If you're building an AI code generation tool and are interested in integrating our API to secure your code, we'd love to talk! - We'd be ready for access to individual users, teams, and enterprises in the next few weeks. - We're constantly improving our agent architecture, and we expect to increase the gap with other tools even further. We aim to release more results from our research and benchmarks. - Integration with DeepSource is soon on our roadmap, bringing AI-native code reviews to all our customers. AI might not just kill coding...it could swallow software itself. With Claude Sonnet 4.5 you describe what you want, and software appears in real time. That means an endless flood of apps, systems, and tools... until “apps” stop meaning anything at all. And it all happens inside what looks like a simple chatbot, where conversation replaces code. At first this just means an explosion of apps, systems, and tools. Anyone can build anything instantly. But when software is this abundant, the meaning of “apps” begins to disappear. Execution stops being the bottleneck. The scarce resource becomes judgment: deciding what is worth building, and why. Over time, that shifts the whole system. Education no longer trains us to memorize but to think critically about goals, ethics, and design. Work stops revolving around pushing buttons on screens, because the screens themselves fade. AI assistants, tied into robotics and infrastructure, carry out most tasks automatically. The computer as we know it becomes invisible, woven into life itself. We’ll still have challenges, decisions, and tradeoffs. But the nature of “work” may change from doing tasks to governing abundance. So maybe the real endgame isn’t more apps, but fewer. Not more screens, but less. A society where the computer disappears, and the questions left are: what do we build, what do we ignore, and what do we protect? What do you think?
