Term premiums – the extra compensation for holding longer-dated bonds instead of reinvesting in shorter maturities – are rising across developed markets amid elevated government spending and inflation uncertainty. Technical factors are also at work: Global bond investors tend to actively seek out attractive term premiums they can hedge back to their base currency. BNP Paribas has supported MFE-MediaforEurope N.V. (MFE) in its voluntary public takeover offer of ProSiebenSat.1 Media SE. With the closing of the transaction on 16 September, MFE becomes the majority shareholder, securing a total stake of 75.61% of shares.   MFE is the holding company of one of the major pan-European broadcasting hubs.
