  • Did M&As from the rest of the world toward Africa create value for the buyer in the long run ? An empirical study from 1990 to 2015

    This study investigated the impact of International M&As toward companies based in Africa on shareholder value in the long run. Using the BHAR method with control firm, we conclude that M&A transactions to Africa did not create value for shareholders over a period of 18 months and 24 months from 1990 to 2015. More specifically the less is the cultural distance between the countries of the companies the greater is the chance to create value for the buyer.
