France is about to force millions of businesses into software. Not politely. Not gradually. By law. 📑 Starting in 2026, every French business — from the corner café to the design studio — will have to issue and receive invoices in a standard digital format. Each invoice will go automatically to the customer and to the tax authorities for VAT reporting. Think about all those shoeboxes full of receipts. The envelopes stuffed with slips. The PDFs buried in inboxes. A whole way of working disappears overnight. What a relief. 😮💨 For freelancers, maybe it’s just one less pile of paper on the desk. But for B2B companies, it changes everything. Because once invoices live in software, payments naturally follow. Reconciliation follows. Cash flow follows. Suddenly, accounting software isn’t just admin — it becomes the default financial hub. That’s why this will be a fierce battle for software companies. Everyone wants to be the tool SMBs pick for compliance. Because once you win invoicing, you can win everything else. But let’s be honest: there won’t be just one winner. SMBs are too diverse, too fragmented. There’s room for many players to succeed and they will. One regulation. Huge consequences. And…🍿 yes, a little drama. P.S. I’ll be at the Congrès de l’ordre des experts-comptables tomorrow, Swan’s booth #R551

Startup Rise Europe News
French SaaS platform Qovery, which automates DevOps and simplifies application deployment across any cloud, has raised €11.3 million in a Series A round to expand regionally, scale its team and advance AI-driven product innovation. The round was led by IRIS and included Speedinvest, Crane Venture Partners, Techstars, Irregular Expressions, and notable angel investors such as Datadog Co-founders Olivier Pomel and Alexis L., Docker Co-founder Sebastian Pahl, and Checkout.com CTO Ott Kaukver (former Twilio CTO), who also joins the board. All previous Seed investors participated in the Series A. The 🇪🇺📲 EUDI Wallet is one of the most ambitious projects Europe has ever started. We’ve made great progress — but still need to improve the user experience ⬇️ In my latest blog, I cover: ✅ Why UX will decide adoption ✅ How citizens should experience the wallet ✅ What organizations need for seamless integration ✅ Why ecosystem alignment is key The goal: a wallet that is simple, secure, trusted and used every day by everyone. But here’s the real question: 👉 What do YOU think we need to focus on to make the EUDI Wallet a success for millions of people? Read my comprehensive User experience guide here: https://lnkd.in/gkBGYCGG #eIDAS, EU Digital Identity Wallet #EUDIWallet

🚨 The battle for the future of software is no longer about who can write code fastest — it’s about who owns the data and context to power AI. Generative coding agents and tools from Anysphere, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf Cognition and poolside are commoditizing software development. In this new era, context is king and data is the moat. Winners will be those who: 1️⃣ Embed deeply into workflows to capture rich, high-fidelity data 2️⃣ Engineer context precisely at inference time 3️⃣ Reinforce models through usage, not static prompts Legacy SaaS vendors face eroding moats. AI-native apps with data flywheels and contextual intelligence are rising fast. 👇 Full article in the comments. If you’re building in this space, I want to hear from you. Thank you to Jeff Haynie, Jason Warner, Çağla Kaymaz and Vedant Agrawal for providing input and feedback on this article! #AI #Software #VC #DeveloperTools #ContextIsKing #FutureOfWork

The French VC firm plans to close €250m total by 2026. Paris-based VC Serena, an early backer of AI unicorn Dataiku and electric vehicle (EV) charging scaleup Electra, has closed €200m for a new flagship fund dedicated to European early-stage startups in applied AI and the energy transition. “Our flagship funds have always focused on big transitions where we can see leaders emerge in the next 10 years,” says Paul Moriou, partner at Serena. “Applied AI and the energy transition are the continuation of this.” https://lnkd.in/esmMHfN9

Today we reached a massive milestone at Zama : bootstrapping in less than 1 milliseconds. Bootstrapping in FHE allows “cleaning” the noise in encrypted data, and is responsible for the vast majority of the computation time. Thus, the faster bootstrapping gets, the more confidential transactions per second the Zama Protocol can process. We achieved this after years of research on efficiently using GPUs for FHE. The results are MINDBLOWING: Boostrapping latency: - 2021: 53 ms - today: 0.9 ms - speedup: 56x When applied to integers arithmetics, the results are even more insane: 64 bit encrypted addition latency: - 2022: 2,000 ms - today: 8.7 ms - speedup: 230x 64 bit encrypted multiplication latency: - 2022: 13,000 ms - today: 32 ms - speedup: 400x To understand what this means in practice, lets look at confidential stablecoin transfers: - 2022: 0.1 tps - today: 230 tps - speedup: 2,300x And it’s so cheap also: about $0.0001 / transaction for a confidential stablecoin. Tldr; FHE is now FASTER than Ethereum and most L2s! And it’s only a matter of months before we can reach 1000 tps. Next steps: build an FHE ASIC to reach 100k tps by 2029. Enough to cover Visa, Mastercard and SWIFT volume combined. 🚀🚀🚀 Full post in the comments

Thrilled to see Meta — Thomas Scialom, PhD, Grégoire Mialon, and the brilliant Meta Agents team — launch 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗮𝟮, built within their new 𝗔𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗟 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 platform! Gaia2 sets a new bar for agent evaluation by testing models in dynamic, real-world conditions, where APIs timeout, priorities shift, and unexpected friction derails even the smartest systems. The ARE RL Environment framework is designed to 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 in environments that look and feel like the real world. (After all, in this day and age, winning IMO medals is a challenge of the past. It’s deploying models into the rich, long tail messiness of the real world that’s the golden frontier.) Two years ago, Meta pioneered this vision with 𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗔, a benchmark we were proud to help build. Since then, we’ve had the privilege of collaborating again on 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗮𝟮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗔𝗥𝗘, creating the diverse scenarios and data that helped bring these ideas to life — with a team at Meta that recognized the importance of RL environments long before they became the hot new kid on the block. We’ve always believed that training models is only half the story. Measuring them — with the right objectives, in the right environments — is just as critical. Who cares if a model gets better at the wrong thing? 𝗚𝗮𝗶𝗮𝟮 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗴 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆. We’re excited to keep collaborating toward powerful, reliable AI that works even in the chaos of the real world. Congrats to the Meta team! https://lnkd.in/eF5NRVuF
