My team designed the next-generation internal think-tank of BNP Paribas.
The first research papers addressed for instance (i) the comparability of CIBs’ Return on Equity, (ii) Cost optimization models for wholesale banks and (iii) The value of Cost of Equity in the decision-making process.

I steered CIB’s 3-year plan project in 2014, with a focus on resources optimization and regulatory compliance. Also coordinated a McKinsey team to ensure the quality and consistency of business lines’ contribution

Back in 2007, BNP Paribas' listed derivatives execution and clearing capabilities were separate business units in two separate divisions. I designed a combined model, promoted it to the ExCo, got approval and managed the launch of the project.

In my opinion, this controversial restructuring of Greek sovereign bonds prevented catastrophic consequences for the Euro area. To avoid an inevitable default, banks and investors, under guidance from the IIF, agreed on a haircut on their holdings. The mind behind the solution was my boss Alain Papiasse, who suggested a scheme similar to Brady Bonds. The business development of BP2S in Asia was subject to the set up of an efficient hub-and-spoke, follow-the-sun operating model. I led the project that led to the selection of Chennai as a perfect location and the Sundaram group as the best possible business partner. The operations center now employs over 2,500 people in Chennai.
