SAML IdP Metadata - "select file" button doesnt work

Hello,

I am working to debug my SAML implementation, and am getting the error in the debug console at login.

Turns out when selecting an xml file under SAML IdP Metadata settings, file is actually not being uploaded, causing the error. Using the browser dev tools, I can see there is no activity when selecting a file.
Had no issues with other upload buttons (in the Branding settings for example). Tried multiple browsers.

As a workaround ended up hosting a file and entering an URL to the uploaded xml file.

Generally, that sounds like a UI bug on our part, somewhere. If we can figure out where we're not showing the right error, we'll definitely get it fixed.

So I have a couple of ideas on what it could be -

1. Does it maybe not want to send your uploaded file unless you have "SAML Integration" set to "SAML enabled?"
2. Is your XML file particularly big?
3. And it is XML, right?
4. Is your XML file valid? - like, the opening tag looks like the closing one? You can paste a redacted one here (be careful!) and we can try to check it out.
5. (I swear, this is not a stupid question) - did you hit the 'Save' button at the end? That form is looooooong and I can easily see someone assuming it's going to 'auto-save' (and it does not). Probably not, since you were able to save the URL in there just fine.

Generally, that form should work normally like any other from in Snipe-IT - but it's certainly possible that there's some useful error message we could return (something like, "this isn't a valid XML file") which could be useful for users to be able to solve their own problems.
